This was the most enchanting hour of our trip. As the sun began to set, painting the Koutoubia Mosque in a golden hue, our decorated caleche felt like a chariot from a storybook. The chaotic sounds of the medina faded into a gentle soundtrack of clopping hooves and distant calls to prayer. Winding through the Guéliz district, we could simply hold hands, soak in the blend of art deco and palm trees, and watch the city transition from day to night. Our driver, Ahmed, was a gentle guide, pointing out landmarks with quiet pride. It was worth every dirham for the peace and the postcard-perfect memories. A must-do for couples.
I had a really great 1-hour horse carriage ride in Marrakech today. Ahmed (the coachman), and Ismail, who drove me to the city centre from my Riad and back, where both polite and very serviceminded:-)
I put 1 star because I can't put 0. Driver's a terrible guide. He sent us for a walk because we didn't want to go down to the herbalist... he told us to take a taxi next time! Left without saying goodbye. We're a tourist, okay, but not pigeons.
