This was a peaceful, educational experience with a local guide. He was an engaging thoughtful person who took pix for our family and shared them with us. He gave us local recommendations for food joints and must-see spots.
It was a very fun relaxing experience. The staff at the store were friendly and helpful. From the store you drive to John Pennecamp State Park, the fee to get in is part of your tour so you can stay and explore after the tour. Our guide Connor did a wonderful job. He was informative and helpful and took pictures for us which he shared with us. You don't really need your phone. It was just what we wanted for a kayak experience. We kayak at a lake back home and weren't sure if we needed a tour but it was perfect. You do get in the water at one point to swim. Make sure the pockets in your suit are empty. Also he provides water so you just need a bottle for refills. Highly recommend
For active travellers staying with us at Kawama Tower 406, we highly recommend Florida Bay Outfitters for premium backcountry exploration. They provide fully safety-inspected, compliant kayak and stand-up paddleboard (SUP) rentals with convenient drop-off options right to the Kawama Yacht Club. Launching from their pristine site next to the Caribbean Club gives you immediate access to spectacular mangrove-canopied channels like Dusenbury Creek. It offers an incredible 75% chance of spotting wild wintering manatees, bottlenose dolphins, and rare migratory birds at close quarters in a safe, fully insured manner.
We had a great experience! Mark was the best guide! The mangroves are awesome! Would 100% do it again!
Great Family fun!! Guides were very friendly and took pics of everyone.
We did the 1:30 kayak tour on a Tuesday. Fritz was an awesome guide that led us through the mangroves for 2 hours. We didn’t see any manatees, but it was still fun. Highly recommend this company for kayak tours.
This was a fun trip and we appreciate our trip contact being helpful and assuring us that we were good to go when our reservation was lost due to switching to a new scheduling software. We got started late, but still had our full tour experience. Weather was beautiful and the mangrove tunnels were unbelievable and fun to maneuver through. We were a little slower than the rest of the group, but they always waited for us up ahead. You are also able to stay in the state park after the adventure, so bring some snorkeling gear and some dry clothes to change into. Changing rooms are available and a great food truck for a meal.
Great kayaking tour extremely knowledgeable tour guide Mark! Super patient with all the guests, gave great recommendations for all of the Florida Keys. Would definitely recommend 10/10!
Having a tour guide is always more expensive than venturing out alone but we love the knowledge sharing a tour guide provides. Well worth the extra money. Our time slot was overbooked but the tour guide made it a great time anyway. Highly recommended.
My husband and I had a great time with Bob and learned all about the local marine life. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience. I would highly recommend!
