Our adventure begins in the Spanish Steps of Consuegra, where you will have free time to have breakfast and soak up the local atmosphere. Afterwards, we will head to Cerro Calderico, home of the iconic mills. We will know their secrets, their history and how they have stood the test of time. The experience becomes even more special as you enter the Rucio Mill, where you will discover how these giants transformed grain into flour, just as it was centuries ago. Our next stop is the imposing Castillo de la Muela, a medieval fortress with breathtaking views that is enhanced over the Manx plain.

Consuegra is more than a village: it is a spell that carries back to another age, a portal where mills are not just mills and the spirit of the knight-errant continues to ride, eternally, in the pages of time.
High on the hill of Consuegra, the imposing Castillo de la Muela stands like a time sentry. Its stone walls, witnesses of battles and legends, keep the echo of swords and the whisper of the wind. Built in Andalusian times and reinforced by the Order of Saint John, it resists the onslaught of time with the same firmness with which it protected these lands. From its battlements, the view spans the plain, where the windmills turn to the beat of history. Traveling its passageways is traveling to a past of knights, conquests and defenses. In its stones lives the essence of La Mancha, where reality and legend intertwine as in Quixote. More than a vestige of the past, the Castillo de la Muela is a bridge between history and imagination, where the wind whispers feats and dreams. I had a wonderful time on this tour. Miguel was such a friendly, funny, and engaging guide, and he made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The other travellers in the group were also very interesting and fun to be around. I especially loved the little stories about the Consuegra windmills, as well as the beautiful scenery surrounding them. It was a memorable and enjoyable trip, and I would definitely recommend it!

First off, my tour was switched due to low reservations. I did go to the windmills but instead went to Toledo. It was 104 F and worth it. There was only 6 of us and Alex, our tour guide, was awesome. He told us stories and facts on history of both the windmills and Toledo. Having read Don Quixote when I was a teen, this was a dream come true! Amazing and more than I could have ever imagined. And if you really try , you can still smell the horses!!! AMAZING!!! Thank tou Alex for a dream of a tour!!!

A truly breathtaking view, it is an experience not to be missed. Even though the guide only spoke Spanish, he had an automatic translator that allowed him to understand us and vice versa. He was also accommodating, and we felt comfortable.

Our tour wasn’t full enough so they moved us to a tour with a different itinerary that included Toledo, but not the castle. The tour guides were gracious enough to drop us at the castle so we still got to experience it, but our time at the windmills were a bit rushed as a result since the rest of the group needed to get to the Toledo portion of their tour which included a lunch appointment. The guide and driver were incredible, but just know that you may not get to do exactly what you sign up for when booking this tour and we found out only about a week before so not much time to regroup and find a similar alternative.

Esto puede dificultar la reorganización de los grupos con antelación y puede dar lugar a ajustes de última hora. Dicho esto, nos alegra mucho saber que tanto el guía como el conductor le brindaron una excelente experiencia y agradecemos sinceramente su comprensión. Yesid was our tour guide, and he was so gracious, patience, and knowledgeable with the Book of Don Quijote. He's detail oriented of each of the Consuegra Windmills that it took me back to my high school days when I had to read the book, only this time I understood it much better with Yesid explanation.
