Visit five authentic eateries to enjoy a variety of Spanish favourites paired with local drinks. Expect award-winning Spanish tortilla with caramelised onions and goat cheese, Manchego cheese, fuet, a Basque-style gilda, a squid ink calamari sandwich with aioli, garlic mushrooms with chorizo, and freshly made churros with hot chocolate. Along the way, you'll enjoy a local beer, a modern vermouth cocktail spritzed with gin, and a refreshing tinto de verano. This tour ended up being a fantastic way to unwind after a full (tiring!) travel day into Madrid. It took the guesswork out of choosing a local spot for dinner our first evening there, and allowed us to taste some of the specialties tucked into the city's unassuming tapas bars. Favorites were the tortilla operada (Spanish potato omelette), black squid ink calamari w/ aioli, and tinto de verano. And our tour guide, Karina, was excellent! She made sure our stomachs were full, drinks flowing, and that we had everything we needed. She was also knowledgeable about the area's history, gave us recommendations for places to visit, and was just fun to talk to!
This tour is so fun! Karina was a wonderful tour guide. She was funny, helpful and so knowledgeable. It's amazing to walk the streets of Madrid and dive into small but famous places and try their tapas.
