Your guide will take you to visit the official residence of the kings of Spain, also known as the Palace of the East. Built between 1738 and 1764 on the ruins of an ancient castle that dated back to Emir Mohamed I (9th century), the palace is characterized by an impressive artistic richness both in the multiple materials used for its construction and in the decoration of the rooms. Take advantage of this instructive visit to discover the history of Spain and do not hesitate to stop your guide to ask him to linger longer on a historical point.
Once the visit to the Royal Palace of Madrid is over, you'll head to the Prado Museum, for which we offer cab transportation to the museum. Once you arrive at the museum, you will not have to wait a moment thanks to the quick entrance included in your reservation.

Your guide will meet you at your hotel to begin the tour (please wait for your guide in your hotel lobby). He will be waiting for you a few minutes before the scheduled start time. The cab ride from your hotel to the museum is included in the total duration of the tour (4 hours). Transfer by cab (cost included in the tour). If you have any questions about your pick-up, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please note: the transfer will be by cab (Madrid city cab). This tour does not include a private chauffeur service. Madrid is a busy capital, so we apologize in advance for any traffic jams that may occur during your journey. If your hotel is close to one of the museums, you'll be able to get there on foot. For very short distances, there's no need to take a cab (saves time).

First time having a personalized tour, but my guide Christina was excellent. She knew the Palace of Madrid and its rich history completely. She share some of the past intrigue around past generations of royals and tge queen who gave birth 24 times! Astounding! There was no question Christina could not answer. When we visited the Prado Museum of Art, she knew the details of the paintings, their meanings, vanishing point of a painting and society during specific periods. This experience was far more enriching than had I gone by myself. Additionally, it was an extremely hot day and my ticket allowed me to skip the lines at each place. Would highly recommend paying a bit extra for this experience when you travel. Christina deserves a promotion or at the least, a bonus. We spent a good 2 hours at each place. Although Pope Leo was in Madrid that day, she managed to snag a taxi from the palace to the art museum; coolness under pressure. Cannot thank Viator enough for this experience. Will continue to book private tours in the future.

This was a great tour and Enrique was a fantastic guide. We are not really “art people” but Enrique made the Prado time interesting and enlightening. Leticia was an absolute dream ! She truly made the whole tour with her winning personality , and knowledge . She exceeded my expectations, and we were able to see more than I expected . We moved at a quick pace ( by my design ) and we enjoyed every moment . She decided where we should start to avoid crowded museums , and sights . It was one of the best tours we have ever taken . I only wish she could’ve been our tour guide for the whole day instead of 4 hours ! Trust me , I’ve traveled all over and have done countless tours and this was definitely top notch .
