Lunch and Tasting of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena

Description
Hello, I'm Giorgio — welcome to our family's historic vinegar cellar. Together with my father Mario, President of the "Antiche Acetaie" Producers' Consortium and President of the ABTM D.O.P. Expert Tasters Association, I share a passion for ABTM in all its facets, from production to revealing its secrets. In the cellar you will see numerous "batteria", including the one started by my great-grandfather Mario in 1905 which is still in production today. We will also talk about other lines of barrels important to my family, such as those started by my grandfather Giorgio in the early 1950s to mark the birth of his children. It is precisely because of our deep passion for Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena that we decided to open our home and welcome you into this magical world. This is a wonderful experience with an insight into the history and making of the best balsamic vinegar you are ever likely to taste. The hosts very kindly provided a shuttle service from the railway station, an extremely warm welcome and an amazing lunch. If you are in the area this is an unmissable attraction.
Lovely estate, informative presentation, if a bit overly stated that it is a family affair. Attentive staff.
A fascinating look into one families history of making balsamic vinegar in Modena. You will learn how the balsamic vinegar is made being the various stages and how only the very best can achieve recognition. You then have a tasting session at a lunch that showcases the best of flavour combinations. As a hint only have a very light breakfast before you go .
Fantastic experience which is highly recommended. Very informative and lunch was fantastic. High Recommend this.
This was the worst tour we have ever been on. While the guide did her best and was very informative, it was not at all value for value in the least. One of the insults was that we had to pay for our own wine. We paid $200 for this tour where we ate a few sandwiches annd some gelato and we had to pay for our own wine? We thought we were going to see some actual production. We did a balsamic tour of the day before for less than half the price were fed much better and it was much more informative. We will never ever take a tour with this company again. Basically, it sucked. We will be writing reviews elsewhere as well to discourage others from taking this tour.
An all round wonderful experience. Giovanna was an absolute star and ray of sunshine. She was so knowledgeable about all things balsamic vinegar, friendly and gave this experience a personalised touch. Learnt so much about the process of making the balsamic vinegar and appreciate the work and time that goes into this so much more now. The value was exceptional - the lunch was delicious and so abundant. Thank you, I will be highly recommending this beautiful family, its business and experiences.
A wonderful tour with personal touches. We highly recommend - we had a great time, good food and learned a lot. Their balsamic is amazing.
The tour and tasting was absolutely fantastic. We had a great group at our table, and our host, Elena, was amazing. My wife and I met some great people and tasted things we never had before. Worth every bit of what we paid.
It was fantastic, well organized and generous. We loved every part of this tour. The balsamic vinegar was amazing to taste and explained so well. This tour is a must in Modena. We also walk the town. It was so quaint and Beautiful!
Fabulous family business who were gracious hosts, food was fabulous, no expense sparred, family members were interesting and location was great.
