London: Christmas Market Tours in Salisbury and Winchester

Treat yourself to a day out in two beautiful cathedral towns that have yearly Christmas Markets getting a mix of seasonal cheer, history and culture. First we visit Salisbury Cathedral (entrance included) and visit this beautiful building that will be decorated for Christmas. Legend has it that an archer shot an arrow from the old settlement at Old Sarum and it hit a deer. After this you are free to explore the Christmas Markets at the nearby Guildhall and get some lunch. In the Afternoon we head on to our next historic Cathedral town, the capital of Anglo-Saxon England, Winchester. We drop off at the statue of King Alfred the Great and the markets are in the grounds of the beautiful Cathedral. Enjoy shopping for Christmas gifts, visit the Cathedral and maybe visit the Great Hall. Finally as the sunsets and the Christmas lights twinkle all around, we will all make our way back to London.

We enjoyed the day tour to Salisbury and Winchester. They are both beautiful quaint English villages. They have certainly embraced the Christmas spirit with the lovely decorations and light displays within the villages. The Christmas Market at Winchester is something else and the highlight of our day!! Winchester has plenty of eating options and my friend hit the jackpot having a delicious fish and chip dinner at Rick Steins. Our tour guide was informative but we felt he provided too much commentary. Most guests were on the tour for the market and shopping. The Cathedrals were beautiful and their history was interesting but it wasn't the focus of our day.
