London: Black Cab Downton Abbey Day In The Cotswolds Tour

This charming Cotswolds tour of Downton Abbey locations is the perfect way to see both filming locations from the hit TV series and some of the most beautiful parts of the internationally renowned Cotswolds. Cogges Farm doubles up as Yew Tree Farm, the home of Mr Drew in the hit TV series Downton Abbey. Whilst at Cogges farm you will be guided around the charming farmhouse, introduced to some of the animals including the yellow and black pigs, and told all about how filming took place between series 4 and 6.
After leaving Yew Tree farm, we will take in the beautiful village of Asthall which was the childhood home of the famous, and infamous, Milford sisters where you will learn about how these sisters became some of the most famous people in 20th century Britain and how they have link to Hitler and The Dukes of Devonshire.
The Swan Pub, a pub so good former Prime Minister David Cameron is known to drink here. It is at The Swan where we will stop for a quick, but delicious, pub lunch. Please note that the cost of Lunch is not included in the price of this tour.
Enjoy the picturesque village of Swinbrook, home to the famous Mitford family, as we drive through this stunning village. On the way, your guide will point out some local landmarks that have been used in the hit film series Bridget Jones.

The stunning, chocolate box village of Burford is one of the top sites to see in the Cotswolds. While not seen in Downton Abbey the town is well worth a visit. Once at Burford, we will take a walk down the beautiful Highstreet, which is your chance to shop for some Cotswolds mementoes, gaze at the stunning architecture and take as many photos as your phone, and camera can take. Finally, we will head over to the fantastic filming location that is Bampton village
This beautiful village is complete with a forded river, cottages that date back hundreds of years and a historic Pub. A fantastic place of a photo, its is one of the prettiest villages we have ever visited, and we are sure you will agree.
The final stop on the tour is the fantastic filming location that is Bampton village. Bampton is famous for being the filming location for Downton village in all 6 series and the feature film of Downton Abbey. Whilst here I will explain all about filming, give you chance to take photos outside some of the iconic buildings and, if they are feeling friendly, introduce you to some of the local people who adore the TV show almost as much as they love the people who now visit the beautiful village that they call home. Leaving Bampton at approximately 4pm, we aim to return you to your hotel by 6pm.

This was our second time booking a tour with Dewi and it was a great experience. He took us to Highclere Castle and other Downton Abbey filming locations. He was very informative, answered all our questions related to the tour and otherwise, and made the day fun! Would absolutely book another tour!
Dewi did a fantastic job on our Tour of the film locations of Downton Abbey and the Cotswolds. Very energetic and knowledgeable. He and his driver picked us up at our hotel in London and drooped us off at a different location. Highly recommend Dewi and his team for your London and Uk Tours.

We were surprised to have a black taxi for this trip. The car was not comfortable for the full day tour with 4 of us and the tour guide. Nothing in the description of the tour included this information. For the price of this tour I expected a comfortable ride since you are in the car for 4 hours plus. Other tours for this same itinerary do say black taxi so we did not book those. The tour itself was interesting and lunch was delicious. My suggestion is to provide this information. If you are booking this tour be aware that for a group of 4 this is not the way to go if it's in a black taxi.
I brought my mother to England specifically for this Downton Abbey tour as she is a huge fan of the show. Our guide, John Davies, was absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. He not only knew so many interesting facts and stories about the filming of Downton Abbey, but he was so kind and enjoyable to be with. At each location (Cogges Manor Farm, the town of Bampton and Highclere Castle) he had wonderful photos he would share with us from scenes of Downton Abbey. He brought it all to life for us. I highly recommend John and this tour. Dewi Evans, the head guide, was also great to work with as he helped me with the planning of this day and assigned John to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our Downton Abbey private tour with Dewi Evans, and would highly recommend it to anyone — particularly Downton Abbey fans. Dewi is personable, witty, knowledgeable, and considerate. Because he has an acting background, he shared behind-the-scenes stories about the writing, casting and production of Downton Abbey — a series that we thoroughly enjoyed. It was a full day, but not exhausting as Dewi kept us engaged throughout the tour. We guarantee — you won’t be disappointed.

Dewi was our guide and he was great so we had a really fun day in the Cotswolds. He was very personable and witty (I even caught my 15-year old daughter cracking a smile or two and that's not easy! haha). Dewi definitely knows his Downton Abbey stuff and he explained the sights/locations so they were relatable to scenes in the show & movie. This tour was the best of both worlds ~ we're DA fans so this was satisfying since Highclere Castle wasn't open during our time in the UK and there was also some general Cotswolds sightseeing too.
