I love how most of history is “story”, which we got in abundance from our terrific thespian tour guide Benedict J. Martin. Flash folk built big houses in London to get close to the Royals. Spencer House was built by Earl John Spencer whose family had to wait more than two centuries for a descendant, Diana, could marry into the For,. The Green Park had its flowerbeds removed by a queen who learned her Merry Monarch Charles II, had been picking its flowers for his lovers. In “cigarette country”, we saw Marlborough House - which backs on to Pall Mall - once home to philandering prince dubbed Dirty Bertie, who later became King Edward VII, the great great grandfather of our current monarch King Charles III. Coincidentally, Bertie’s favourite married mistress was Alice Keppel, whose great-great granddaughter is now Her Majesty Queen Camilla. During our five-hour tour, we heard many more entertaining yarns which prove the axiom that history belongs to those who tell it. Bravo Benedict!
Nathaniel was a wonderful guide-full of historical tidbits and stories. I would recommend this tour for everyone. But you have to ask for Nathaniel!
Wonderful experience with Owen, very polite and humble person I must say. We did 5 hours tour with him,he kept us entertained throughout the tour.
Our tour guide, Ashely, was incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. Navigating his own extensive experience, he guided us directly to the most essential highlights. His explanations were clear and easy to understand, making him thoroughly likable. Thank you so much! Highly recommended. Ps, It might have been even better if he had been holding something up in the air. In the middle of an extremely crowded city on a Saturday, I felt a little anxious that I might lose sight of him.
We started at the Ritz and our guide was Dan. The tour was set in 2 stages. First stage was all the monarchy and history near Buckingham Palace. The second stage was near London bridge and ends at the financial district. The tour is very educational and full of the rich English history. Our guide Dan is very knowledgeable. Dont know how he manages to hold that much information but he is amazing specially if you are into history. He know good spots for photography, but also little sites that are full of history. We were very lucky to have him as our guide. This tour ia one we will never forget
Did the 5hr tour with Ashley. Everything went great from start to end. Clear instructions on meeting place, great history learned about so many popular sites and all at a great pace. Ash was both extremely knowledgeable and funny. Great choice in tours!
Our tour guide Owen was fantastic. He really made the excursion fun and enjoyable. It was never a dull moment.
James was very informative and entertaining guide with many historical insight. We did the 5 hour tour and it went fast. Fun trivia concerning the fires of london and horse poop :) We were marched to the toilets by the British Army at the changing of the guard.
Ash was amazing. The level of detail he had for each stop was truly remarkable. Also very friendly and accommodating
Lots of walking. Saw many sights and had great explanations.
