Description

Lisbon is romantic, beautiful, historic and a stunning city overall. Many of us who live here take a lifetime to fully discover all of its wonders. Our See-It-All tour aims to give you as much as possible in as little time as possible. The city’s heritage is over 800 years old and there's a lot to learn about it. From Baroque to Gothic architecture, to the narrow streets of our oldest neighborhood Alfama, we have no doubt you'll be immersed in this unique experience. We intend to show you all, starting with Parque Eduardo VII, and passing by the Águas Livres Aqueduct, one of the best pieces of Portuguese engineering of the 18th century. We'll then visit the UNESCO-listed sites of Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, the Monument to the Discoveries and the Coach Museum. To top off the tour, we'll stop on one our most famous viewpoints of Lisbon. Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara, and finish with an amazing walking tour of Alfama, to enjoy the our popular culture and atmosphere!

Itinerary

25 min

Situated north of Avenida da Liberdade on top of the Pombal Marquis Square, stands the biggest park in Lisbon. Originally called Liberty Park, it was renamed in honor of the King of England's visit in 1903. It would, henceforth, be called Edward VII Park. Developed along 25 acres of land, these two avenues are paralleled by a long grass strip, with many delights and relaxing views

Pass by

Although hiding some mysteries, it was considered the most beautiful place in Lisbon at the turn of the century, the impressive structure rises above the Alcântara valley. The construction of an aqueduct to bring water to the city gave King João V the opportunity to indulge his passion for grandiose construction, as the only area of Lisbon that had water was in Alfama.

20 min

Commissioned by King Manuel I, the tower was built from 1515 to 1521 to be a fortress in the middle of the Tagus. The starting point for the Discoveries' navigators, this Manueline jewel became the symbol of Portuguese expansion.

A monument to the wealth of the Age of Discoveries, it is the pinnacle of Manueline architecture of the period. It was commissioned by King Manuel I around 1501, shortly after Vasco da Gama's return.

15 min

Perched high on the riverbank in Belém, this massive monument was built in 1960 to mark the 500th anniversary of the death of Henry the Navigator.

This coach collection is probably the best in Europe. Made in Portugal, Italy, France, Austria and Spain, the coaches cover three centuries and range from the simplest to the most sophisticated.

15 min

The São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint is one of the widest and most iconic viewpoints in Lisbon. It is right next to the top of the Glória funicular and offers a special view of the city. Here you can see all of Avenida da Liberdade, Restauradores and Baixa, as well as the hill of Castelo de São Jorge, with its imposing walls and its photogenic green crown of umbrella pines. You can also see in detail the viewpoint of Igreja da Graça, with its imposing church.

A fascinating neighbourhood at any time of the day but which comes alive in the early evening when the inhabitants take to the streets and the taverns start to fill up. This is a walking tour passing by Castle S. Jorge, Igreja de Santo Antonio and Cathedral of Lisbon (Sé).

Pass by

The National Pantheon is one of the symbols of Lisbon, but also of Portugal. After all, this is the final home of great figures in our history, such as Amália Rodrigues and Eusébio. However, the particularities of this place are far from limited to the journeys of those who rest there. The construction of this building began in the 16th century. XVII and was only completed in the second half of the century. XX. In this article, we'll tell you how it all started and also a legend that was forever linked to this place.

50 min

The site where Expo‘98 was held is now called Parque das Nações and has become a centre for cultural activities. With its contemporary architecture, attractions for the whole family and spaces for socialising, the park has brought new life to the eastern fringe of Lisbon.

All of Lisbonne in one day

Rui was amazing: patient, available to cover it all. We visited beyond what was scheduled and Riu was flexible to accommodate our needs. The Royal treasure of the royal palace is definitely worth a visit. Riu has so much experience that he can give any piece of advice on what is worth visiting and what to expect.

The highlight of my trip in Lisbon

Jose was an extraordinary guide. Not only did he take me to all the places and neighborhoods I hadn’t visited in depth-Christ the Redeemer monument, Alfama, Almada, Chiado and Barrio Alto, he took me to two of the seven highest viewpoints of Lisbon. At each, he was able to point out all of the different neighborhoods, the property where I was staying, different monuments, palace and more. The views were spectacular. From there we had a lunch at a spot only frequented by locals. Not only was the food spectacular, the owner of the restaurant gifted me with a tile plaque commemorating the restaurants anniversary and also a poster of the restaurant. Our last stop was the Royal Palace of Lisbon. I have no comprehension as to why not is not one of the top rated points of interest in Lisbon as it is breathtakingly beautiful. We virtually had the palace to ourselves along with the gardens and greenhouse. Throughout the day I learned so much about the culture, history, architecture and development of Portugal. This was the perfect ending with the perfect person on a perfect trip. I could not have asked for more nor could I have been with a more entertaining, knowledgeable and decent person.

Operator response

Wine yards and wine tasting was great, but aven better was the driver <3 no rush at all and he was very helpfull with everything. He had good local knowledge and also he did know lot from the history of Portugal. If you are still thinking to take a tour from Avenidas, stop the thinking and call them and make a reservation. Never showed up.

Booked this tour and they never showed up. Was depending on them since we only had a short amount of time to explore Lisbon. I heard they had great reviews for tours/drivers so I was very excited to book them. However, I called and WhatsApp messaged them multiple times and never got a response. Very unprofessional.

Operator response

Dear Deja, We are really sorry this client did not have the tour today. This reservation came in the early hours of the day prior to the travel date and our e-mail did not receive notification for it. Moreover, the contact attempts to our number through whatsapp, were not ideal because we have hundreds of chats there and things get lost very easily. It just so happens that there was a problem with the Viator notifications and we did not get an email informing of the reservation (which can some 24 hours prior to the tour). To be honest, as much as we regret not being able to serve this tour, which was in our best interest, we do not believe this situation is deserving of giving us a rating of 1*. Especially when, unfortunately for both of parties, you did not experience our tour/service at all. Wish you all the best, Manuel

“Saved” by Marccio!

I am one of a group of six women who contracted to be driven from the Lisbon airport to our Airbnb home on the evening of May 29, 2019. We had been lead to believe our house was in Sintra near restaurants, shopping, and transportation. Instead we found ourselves in the middle of a very rural area with none of the above within walking distance of our house! I was obviously upset about our situation, and told our driver, a young man named Marccio Passos, how we had been mislead when we booked the house. He saw our predicament and took it upon himself to call his boss and make arrangements so he could offer to be our private driver for the next 2 days. Not only that, but he also drove us to a grocery store that night and waited while we got provisions for making dinner and breakfast since we had nothing in the home. The next two days he was delightful, taking us to all the must see places in Sintra and then giving us an incredible day of visiting “his” Lisbon. He took us not only to the tourist attractions we requested, but also to an awesome local pastry shop, Pasteis de Belém, where we tried the famous Pastel de Nata. Later he surprised us with reservations at an incredible restaurant, Ponto Final, which was a highlight because of its location and great food. The bottom line is that Marccio turned what would have been a disaster into a wonderful experience for all of us. I believe most drivers would have thought us a bunch of silly women who did not do proper research and would have left us without another thought. I’m so thankful we had to good fortune to have Marccio as our driver the evening of the 29th. He had the integrity and empathy to go the extra mile and I will be forever grateful! L.Coffin
