Itinerary
2 hours of free time planned in Cascais. A former fishing town, it was transformed by the Portuguese nobility into a summer resort with its sumptuous villas and extravagant places. Cascais is a very charming little town where you can enjoy pretty beaches, parks and lively little streets.
La Casa da Guia is currently a reference in the municipality of Cascais and has become a real meeting point with family or friends, thanks to a unique and different concept of commerce, culture and leisure. At the exit of Cascais, on the road to Guincho, Casa da Guia is located in a 19th century mansion, totally rehabilitated by the architect Cláudio Wanderley, surrounded by two hectares of gardens perched on the cliff, extending to at the Lighthouse of Guia and dominating the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean. Inside, we discover an innovative commercial concept with various shops and an art gallery. Outside, there is an excellent area for restaurants, commerce, culture and leisure, where restaurants, terraces and an amphitheater are perfect viewpoints from which to enjoy a magnificent view of the sea.
Cabo da Roca is a wild cape that lies at the westernmost point of continental Europe. This place made up of cliffs hammered by the winds and arid lands was once (until the 14th century) considered the end of the world. It is the ideal place for people who appreciate nature, with on one side the expanse of water that seems infinite and on the other the mountains of the Sintra-Cascais natural park.
This "mouth of hell" is a chasm that has amazed and terrified visitors since the earliest times. The ocean, by dint of often violent comings and goings, has dug the rock, forming a "jaw of stone" in which an infernal soup bubbles.
Magnificent beach set in the spectacular landscape of the Serra de Sintra hills. Always exposed to strong winds, it is famous for its huge waves, summer and winter alike. It is therefore a paradise for experienced surfers. At the southern end of the beach is the yellow-painted fort of Fortaleza do Guincho, which has been transformed into a 5* hotel with its outdoor swimming pool built around an old fort.
The return trip by the coast takes about 1h30

Awesome day traveling the coast just outside Lisbon. Loved touring in the VW van. Antonio did a great job taking us to the sights & giving us plenty of time at each stop.
We really appreciate your message—thank you so much, David and Karen 🙏 We’ll have wonderful memories of our day together. It was a pleasure meeting you!
Awesome!!!! I loved it was so personal. They were friendly, knowledgable. Highly recommend this tour!
It was a real pleasure to share this half-day with you. Your kindness and cool attitude will stay with us forever. Thank you very much for your kind comment. We love it!
This was the best part of our trip to Portugal. This day didn’t feel like you were on a tour. It was more like riding around with family and friends, singing great music and catching all the cool sights along the way. Also, we had the best meal of our entire trip for lunch at Azenhas do Mar. We are forever grateful to Laura and Christiano for helping us create a lasting memory for our family.
We're delighted to be part of your happy travel memories. It means a lot to us, too, to know that you're having a great day! Thank you so much for sharing your experience in this comment. Best regards
What a wonderful experience we had with this tour and although we did not get a chance to visit Sintra and the other Castles because of unforeseen circumstances, we did get a chance to go other sites that we would otherwise not have been able to. My hats off to Christiano for this unforgettable trip to the coastline and the city of Cascais, he took his time to explain in detail all the places we visited. He also recommended local restaurants for us while in Lisbon and his wife Laura kept in touch with me even before we got here to make sure everything was fine. Once again thanks for the beautiful memories and i will be sure to recommend this trip to anyone visiting this beautiful place that is Lisbon. Carlos and Adriana
Dear Carlos and Adriana, thank you very much for your thanks and compliments. It's always a pleasure to satisfy our customers, especially when there are unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We had an excellent day in your company, so please come back soon to visit the castles of Sintra. 😎
Fun day with lovely and knowledgeable guide and driver. The VW bus is super cool! When we moved quickly through regular stops being fast-paced New Yorkers they offered to add another location to visit.
Thank you Maria for your valuable comment. Glad you enjoyed the day. We are happy to have shared this day at your pace 😊 Best regards from Lisbon
Cristiano was an amazing guide for the day! He was on time, very polite and a friend to talk with and ask questions all day. He provided the schedule for the day and asked if we wanted any modifications. This is the perfect tour to visit the coastal towns and sites near Lisbon. At each stop he provided us with history about the stop and allowed time to explore, take pictures and enjoy each experience. Our lunch stop came with an amazing ocean view and the food was outstanding (order the grilled octopus). Make sure you ask him about the history of the van as it has a very fascinating story. He loves what he is doing, is very knowledgeable about Portugal and you will not be disappointed in your experience. We highly recommend this tour as we feel like we have a new friend in Portugal.
Thank you so much, JoNell, for all your kind words and we're so glad you enjoyed the day. We look forward to seeing you again.
Superb experience in this super cute van. Christiano and Laura are really great, very attentive and very friendly, we really had a great time. We had a great day, discovering places we would never have known without them. We highly recommend! Cynthia and Erick
Merci Cynthia et Erick pour ce joli commentaire et cette très belle journée passé en votre compagnie. Au plaisir de vous revoir à Lisbonne. Laura et Christiano ✌️
An unforgettable family day on the road with this iconic van. Many thanks to Christiano and Laura for their professionalism, their kindness and good humor.
Une excellente journée passée en votre très agréable compagnie. Merci beaucoup pour vôtre ressenti sur cette journée. Ce fut un réel plaisir pour nous aussi. A bientôt
Everything was perfect from the pick up to the drop off. Laura and Christian were AMAZING. Super knowledgable, friendly and we enjoyed their fabulous VW van. I highly recommend this trip for anyone, all ages. The van was very comfortable and it gets so much attention on the road. I loved that it was a private tour. Thank you both for a fantastic day!
Hi Debra and thank you so much for your kind message. Thank you also for your good mood and your beautiful presence.🫶 An incredible day. Regards from Lisbon Laura & Christiano
We were picked up on time at the hotel in this fully restored bus and drove comfortably along small roads to Sintra. Our two supervisors told us a lot about the city and Sintra. From Sintra we went to the coast to a fantastic fish restaurant with a great view. Then along the coast to the westernmost point of Europe, then to a hellish gorge and finally back to Lisbon via the coastal road. The trip in the old bus is great fun, people often speak to you and wave at you. We can only recommend the trip!
Thank you very much for your detailed comment. We strive every day to share our good addresses and we are delighted to know that it pleases. We look forward to seeing you again for further discoveries.
