Itinerary
We begin our journey with a classic Caffè Leccese, an irresistible combination of espresso and almond syrup served over ice, perfect for refreshing your senses. Alongside, you'll indulge in Pasticciotto, a warm, crumbly pastry filled with velvety custard cream, or a Fruttone, its cocoa-infused cousin with a heart of almond paste and fruit preserves.
Next, we’ll stop to enjoy one of the city’s most iconic street snacks, the Rustico Leccese. This golden, flaky puff pastry is filled with béchamel, tomato, mozzarella, and a hint of black pepper, making it an irresistible savory bite, perfect for any time of day.
Time for something hearty! We’ll visit a traditional pucceria to try Puccia, a rustic, wood-fired bread stuffed with succulent horse meat stew—a centuries-old specialty in Salento. If you prefer, there will be delicious vegetarian alternatives, such as grilled vegetables, local cheeses, or creamy burrata with sun-dried tomatoes.
No visit to Lecce is complete without trying Pittule, deep-fried dough balls that are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Whether served plain, or flavored with tomato, olives, or anchovies, these irresistible bites are the perfect example of how simple ingredients create incredible flavors.
To conclude our tour on a sweet note, we’ll stop at one of Lecce’s best artisanal gelato shops, where you can choose from a variety of seasonal and classic flavors, all made with local, high-quality ingredients.

Great food tasting experience of local Leece cuisine with Gian Lorenzo! Coupled with a generous amount of information regarding the city. Highly recommend and would definitely do again.
We had a wonderful food tour with Gian Lorenzo as our guide. The communication before, during and even after the tour was fantastic. We had only been in Lecce for a few hours when the tour started so it was great way to see the sights, learn the history and taste some delicious local food.
This was an incredible experience! Not only did we explore Lecce’s fascinating history and visit its beautiful historic sites, but we also enjoyed delicious local food at four different locations, paired with beer, wine, and cocktails. Our guide, Gian, made the tour even more memorable. He was knowledgeable, engaging, entertaining, and incredibly personable. We learned so much while having a fantastic time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lecce!.
Good food, pleasant company, and excellent guidance
A super enjoyable walkabout with excellent food and drink selections by invested restaurateurs. And we had the best luck to get Clara for our tour leader. She was terrific: extra nice, fun company, and positive energy. Thanks Clara - Love You!
Great food tour! Serena, our tour guide was friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend the tour.
This tour was great! Our guide Valentina was so knowledgeable about Lecce history, culture and food. She was also so kind and patient and made it fun for our entire family, including kids ranging from 4 to 10 years old! The food stops were also delicious and we enjoyed trying the local flavors. Definitely recommend this tour and Valentina!
This tour was a food lover’s guide to Lecce specialities, presented by a real local who loves to cook and explained the significance of food in Italian culture. Valentina was warm and inclusive and our group of four, one family of three plus one solo, quickly gelled. Questions were welcomed and the pace never felt rushed. More delicious food was consumed than one could ever have imagined! The range of flavours from savoury to sweet and the strolls between venues kept me engaged and the time disappeared, along with quite a lot of food! Lecce became more and more lively as the evening wore on and benches filled up with gelato eaters. The timing was an excellent way to end the tour and join in the passeggiata.
This was an excellent food tour of local favorites. Our tour guide, Elena, did a great job crafting an itinerary of local street food. We loved it and will be recommending this tour to family visiting the area soon.
Our leader was terrible. Never really talked about the regions foods or what we were tasting. Had a good first stop for coffee and treats then a sandwich stop in an alley facing graffiti where we shared some kind of sandwich (never described why we had it) then on to fried dough and beer( but not enough local beer for the 8 of us) not enough seats then on to ice cream where she left us. If not for the 4 Germans who were on the tour we would have left. They were more interesting. Sad to spend so much money and not have a good tour. We have been in other food tours so we had some expectations. They weren’t met.
