A very enjoyable time walking Le Havre and hearing about Lo La's home town, lovely chips and ice cream at the beach to top it all off!!
Friendly tour guide but not very knowledgeable. Many of our questions about the architecture and history of the city could not be answered due to a lack of knowledge.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you found your guide friendly, but we apologize that they weren't able to provide the architectural and historical depth you were seeking. Our guides are local residents who share the city from a personal perspective rather than as professional historians. However, we understand that a basic context of the city’s landmarks is important, and we will use your comments to help our guides better balance their personal stories with the information guests are curious about.
Our Guide was the best! He provided us with great info about Le Havre and joined us for lunch. The food was wonderful as well as the wealth of info from the guide.
Very little value for money . I booked a 3 hours tour in Le Havre for €72p.p.. In the first 90min we had a look at the few highlights from Le Havre with hardly any explanation . We ended up at the local tourist office before walking another 90 min along the beachfront again without much interaction with the guide. I contacted lokafy to let them know I was not happy and that it would maybe be fair to get a refund for the last hour since there was not much guiding anymore at that moment but they told me the tour is supposed to be a walk with a friend and since I did the tour they would not do anything. I will not use lokafy ever again
Lola was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, fun, interesting, and we really enjoyed her company. Her English was excellent. She made us feel welcome and clearly enjoyed her job.
Malik was a great guide to show the local highlights. A very pleasant, knowledgeable young man! I recommend anyone interested in a walking tour of Le Havre to ask for Malik!
Very good walking tour of current day Le Havre. We got to see the city as it was rebuilt after being bombed out at the end of WWII by the master architect and city planner, August Perret. Very good walking tour of the city plus an over view of its early history. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
Le Havre is a city in northern France, on the coast where the Seine River meets the English Channel. It’s a big port city, known for shipping and trade. The city was heavily damaged in World War II, so much of it was rebuilt with modern concrete buildings, designed by architect Auguste Perret. This gives it a unique, organized look, and it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of this. Le Havre has a mix of old and new. You can visit the St. Joseph Church, with its tall, colorful tower, or the Musée d’Art Moderne André Malraux, which has lots of impressionist paintings. The beach is pebbly but good for walks, and there are parks like the Jardins Suspendus for relaxing. It’s a working-class city with a maritime vibe—think fishing boats, ferries, and cranes. The weather is often cool and rainy, typical for Normandy. People enjoy fresh seafood, like mussels and cod, and the city has a lively market. It’s less touristy than other French cities, but it’s authentic and has a strong sense of history.
Average. Not our first time using this tour format - so we know what to expect. We know it won’t be a professional tour guide but more like a friend showing you around the city. Christian is a lovey man however he could be more talkative. Fortunately I’m a bit of a talker myself but there will be many who would expect the host to lead a conversation. We had a great time (as always) and Christian is a great person - but there is room for improvement in guiding people around Le Havre. Still an enjoyable experience!
Hello, Thank you for your thoughtful review, we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We'll connect with Christian to address this and help him improve for future tours. That said, we're glad to hear you still had an enjoyable experience!
