Late Night London Ghost Walk

Description
Welcome to the late-night London ghost walk. It is said that England is the most haunted country on earth, and indeed, there are more ghost stories and strange tales, mile for mile, than any other place in the world. With such a rich and varied history, this should come as no real surprise. Therefore, it seems only fitting that it should also have the most haunted capital city on Earth. On this ghost walk, we will encounter everything from murderous queens to demon dogs, as well as a few gentler souls. And while this walk is primarily a ghost walk, I will also point out a few places of historical interest. Not only will you be led by a fully experienced City of London guide, but also a veteran ghost hunter. Who has personally taken part in over 15 overnight ghost hunts across England. The guide is also a horror author, who loves anything to do with the supernatural. While most other ghost walks will be coming to an end, we will just be getting started.

Itinerary
ChFor our first stop of the night, we will visit Christ Church Greyfriars. You will hear the story of both the location’s history, as well as that of its most famous ghost, Queen Isabella, wife of King Edward the II of England, or as history more famously remembers her as, the She Wolf of France.
For the 2nd stop of the evening we will visit the largest parish church in the city of London. Where we will find out about the very grisly practice of grave robbing, A crime that reached epidemic proportions in the late 18th and early 19th century.
The walk will stop outside of the Old Bailey, which was once the location of the dreaded Newgate prison. Once there you will be given a brief history of the location, as well as hearing about some of the ghosts that are said to haunt it.
Here we enter the lair of the dreaded Black Dog of Newgate. Where we will hear about this demonic entity, as well as the terrible crime that was said to have birthed it.
We will be stopping at Temple Bar, which is the last of the London Gateways. Here you will be told of the history of the gate, which includes a truly terrifying ghost story that was retold to the guide by the person who experienced the event.
The walk will take us past St. Paul's Cathedral, where we will stop outside of it, and then hear a little about its history, as well as the ghost that is said to haunt it.
Still within the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral we will stop here and find out about the open-air pulpit that one’s stood upon the location, and its connections to both necromancy and witchcraft.
The walk will take us past St Mary Le Bow, which is one of the most famous churches in the city of London. Once there we will stop, where you will hear a brief history of the building, and then be told of some of the creepy events that are said to have taken place there during its long history.
We will visit the Bank of England where we will find out more about the history of this grand old building and its function. We will also hear about its tragic ghost, Sarah Whitehead, who spirit is said to have haunted the location since the early 19th century.
At this location we will find out more about the ghosts of the London underground, as well as the many mysterious events that have said to have plague the station to this very day.
Staying with the London underground we come to one of the cities most famous ghost stations. Once at the location we will hear of the station’s short-lived history, as well as the supernatural events that are said to take place there.
The walk will stop next to the Monument to the Great Fire of London, where you will be told about its history, as well as hearing about the Great fire itself.
The final stop on the walk takes us to the banks of the river Thames, where we will be within sight of London Bridge. Once there you will hear about the bridge’s history, as well as the ghost story that is connected to it.

A good mix of history and lore. A nice walk a little away from the usual smithfields, tower and east end., this one included underground, St Pauls and early London. Guide had a great knowledge of the area and chatted to everyone
Hi Geoffry, Its great to hear from you, I must say it was fab to meet a fellow ghost enthusiast, I also hope you one day get to visit Borley, which has also been a dream of my own, take cate, and have a fab hoilday🙂
Absolutely amazing tour, Alan is an amazing tour guide, so knowledgeable and a great story teller who knows his paranormal. Best Ghost tour
Thank you Peter, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, it was also great to meet both you, and your brother. Its just a shame it was so cold, also that fog was pritty thick, what amazed me was how it seem to come out of nowhere.
Really fun walking tour and a great way to learn the history of London. The walk is not too taxing with lots of sit down breaks whilst Alan tells his ghost stories and gives a great oral history to the ancient city of London
Hi jerry, great to hear from you, and thank you, its nice to know you had a great time, I always aim to give all of my guest the best walks I can. Take care.
This was a wonderful tour by Alan showcasing some incredible London landmarks as well as some lesser known spots. Alan had amazing knowledge and is a very skilled storyteller. This tour wasn’t only great for ghost stories but also for understanding more about London’s rich history. All in all this tour was truly fantastic value for money and well worth doing. Don’t be put off by the 9pm start time, London looks beautiful at night and feels very atmospheric. Thank you so much Alan, I’ll definitely be recommending this tour to friends and family! :)
Hi Ruby, Great to hear from you. It was such a good night, and very atompheric to boot, I still have no clue as to what that thing in the bushes was at the start walk lol. But the two of u were also amazing guest, you really got in to the stories. And like I said at the end, I hope I didn't scare you to much lol
We had a great tour.Alan really knows alot of information about the old City area of London ,not just the haunted parts. Really good experience and fantastic value for money.
Thank you John, It was amazing meeting both you, and your family, I'm glad I could make your hoilday that much more enjoyable, have a safe journey home.
We had a great time on Alan's ghost tour. Didn't meet up with any ghouls this time but got so much information and amazing stories that were well presented and easy to follow even as a non native english speaker. It was also interesting to walk in areas that weren't familiar with us before this and we loved the late night version, since it indeed was much more quiet and gave a more eerie feeling to it all. It was a bit of a walk but a durable one (if one hadn't already walked over 16 000 steps on the same day....). Would recommend, thanks again Alan!
Hi Mona, its great to hear from you, I am glad you had a great time, it was such a joy to take the pare of you around the city, have a fab holiday.
I've been on quite a few ghosts tours for quite a while now, but this one was slightly different, for quite a few reasons. The first reason is that it actually started later than other tours, at 9pm to be precise. The second reason is that Alan the tour guide claims to be a ghost hunter, that is no understatement, he definitely is. I should know because I am also a paranormal enthusiast who has studied this subject for a very long time and I was able to confirm to the other guests that the stories he was telling them and me was 100% correct. The third reason is that he also tells the guests information, which some tour guides who do similar ghost walks, do in fact miss out on. An example of this is when he mentions that Newham Prison has (according to legend) a ghostly hound haunting part of that location. Some of the ghost tours I've been on, don't even mention this. Despite the fact that this tour starts late, if you have the time. It's still worth going to. There was one ironic addition to this tour which was slightly unexpected and also quite amusing, you had the ghost tour bus going past us while Alan was telling us a story near St Bartholomew's Hospital. (Years ago I went on this bus and if you want my advise, stick to the tour guides especially Alan, it's much better) During the visit there was one place, which I was surprised was closed and that is The Viaduct Tavern. This is one of the most haunted pubs in London. All in all, it was a very good tour of London but don't let the 9pm start time put you off from going on to it. Because, you will find that London is a lot quieter including the traffic on the road. So do still consider attending it.
Hi David, it was great to have another ghost hunter along on the walk. I glad you enjoyed yourself.
