Itinerary
Your private guide and driver will pick you up at your Prague place. After approx. 1h 15min of comfortable drive you start exploring Kutna Hora. You visit the first cathedral in Czechia - Cathedral of Assumption - with almost one meter high golden monstrance from 14th century with non-quantifiable value. Listen to the legend how it survived all the wars till today.
Go down into the crypt and admire world famous Ossuary with bones of 40.000 victims of wars and plague designed in pyramids, coat of arms, chandeliers, etc. Please note it is not allowed to take pictures in the Ossuary due to piety reasons. (Open every day except Nov-Feb - in these months it is closed on Mondays.)
St. Barbara's Cathedral was supposed to compete with the biggest church in Prague - St. Vitus in Prague Castle. Evaluate how well the work of medieval masters fulfilled the task.
Glory of Kutna Hora in medieval time touched the glory of Prague because of silver mines and mints. A tour of the silver mine is optional and requires a reservation in advance (limited spots at each tour). People from this Bohemian silver Klondike followed Prague by inviting the same architects to build cathedral of St. Barbara, second "Charles bridge", Italian Court (Silver mint), etc. Taste a true Bohemian lunch at some local restaurant after walk in the city centre. For games lovers, the tour can be extended through visiting real places from the globally famous Czech game Kingdom Come: Deliverance I & II (Warhorse, 2018 & 2025). You can visit not only Kutna Hora but also Sazava monastery, castle Pirkstejn, village Rataj and more. Some places with exclusive tours.
Learn more about the production of silver coins and see examples of them (optional tour of interiors - not included; open every day except Nov-Feb - in these months it is closed on Mondays). After visiting the Italian Court you will be taken back to Prague (1h 15min) and told all the recommendations and insider tips you want to know + you could be dropped-off anywhere in Prague.

Kutna Hora and Ossuary with Mighty Michael Stanislav was truly one of a kind experience. There are tours and guides and then there is Michael! We were transported literally and figuratively from the lobby of our hotel to the majestic county side of Olde World Bohemia. Michael has deep intricate knowledge of the country, town, shoppes, churches and local cuisine. It's not just sight seeing it's sight BEING. The medieval and Renaissance art work architecture and history comes to life through the words and storytelling by Michael. I was positively spellbound by St. Barbara's Cathedral, it's historic art collection as well as interior walls feature remarkably preserved, late-Gothic frescoes that depict the daily secular life of medieval miners and coin minters, in addition to the religious martyrdoms one would typically expect. The vaulted ceiling is gasp worthy a testimony to the wealth, engineering and artistic abilities of Bohemia. Michael turned us on to the exceptionally good local chocolate made by the nuns in various flavors. I will be ordering more for client baskets. The sacred Bone Church was nothing like I imagined. Steeped in folklore, tradition and true honoring of those who have passed; it is a rich tribute to life and death and the legacy we all leave on earth. The well curated local lunch fare far exceeded all expectations. A quaint restaurant and tavern that leads to a darling rose garden with spectacular views of both the magnificent Church of St. James and The stunning architectural triumph; The Corpus Christi Chapel. Complete with its gardens and Kings walk from town. Michael regaled us with the intention and origins of the massive undertaking with iterations over hundreds of years. I absolutely cannot wait to take our next tour with Michael in Vienna! I booked with THE BEST with Winspire and Michael Stanislav a true Czech countryman. 🇨🇿
We had a fantastic experience with Real Prague Tours! Our goal was much different from a typical tour. My great-grandparents emigrated from the Czech Republic to the US, and I wanted to visit my ancestral village of Újezdec to see the home where my family once lived. Real Prague Tours worked with us to create a customized day that exceeded every expectation! Our guide Michal was knowledgeable, personable, and clearly passionate about Czech history and culture. He handled all logistics and helped us navigate the language barrier with ease. Having a local expert made what could have been a complicated trip completely stress-free. The highlight of the day was visiting the tiny village where my ancestors lived. Standing in front of the family property and seeing the area where my family's story began was an unforgettable experience. Without Real Prague Tours, this simply would not have been possible. Throughout the day, we never felt rushed. Michal was well-organized but flexible, allowing us to spend extra time at locations that were especially meaningful. His enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to tailor the experience to our interests made all the difference. If you're looking for a personalized tour of Prague or want to explore your Czech family heritage, I recommend Real Prague Tours without hesitation!
Michal is an absolutely fabulous guide! He was timely, flexible, very friendly, looked out for our every concern - we have somewhat complicated food requirements - took us to a lovely restaurant, and was throughout the most interesting guide we have ever had: we wound up learning a huge amount about life in the Czech republic and discussing all sorts of other things as well.
Our guide for our private day trip tour of Kutná Hora, Peter, was awesome! Incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the town, he pointed out stories/facts we wouldn’t have learned otherwise, and we genuinely enjoyed getting to know him over the course of the day. In fact, we enjoyed our tour with Peter so much that we booked a last minute tour with him to Terezín later in our trip. Both tours were highlights of our time in the Czech Republic. If you’re looking for a private tour that feels personal, relaxed, and insightful, we would highly recommend booking with Michal & Peter. Communication was great, the car ride was very comfortable, and we will definitely be reaching back out to them when we come back to visit other areas nearby Prague!
We had an excellent time with Michal. He was prompt when he picked is up at our hotel, even though we had a change in our hotel last minute. He drove us 75 minutes to Kutra Hora from Prague. He was a safe driver, no jerks or sudden moves. He timed everything perfectly to coincide with church openings so there was no wait. His cadence of the tour was exactly what we wanted. He has a wealth of knowledge about everything in the area, feeding us interesting tidbits of information we wouldn't likely know. We learned alot with him as our guide. Snd his English is impecable. He is highly recommended.
Michal was a fantastic guide-very courteous and knowledgeable about every aspect of our excursion. In addition, we also learned more history as we traveled in a nice, luxury SUV. Our lunch was delicious and served at a quaint little restaurant. Highly recommend Michal as a guide!
Peter was an extraordinary guide. Knowledgeable, kind and very thorough. We have done several guided tours around Europe, and this was by far the best.
Michel was a great guide. He is so knowledgeable and full of so much information. He showed us everything we wanted to see and more. He even sent me some spots to check out on our own. We had to change the timeline last minute and he was so flexible with the tour, but was able to still show us everything we wanted to see. Thank you for a great day.
We booked this day trip with Michal last minute when our other guide unfortunately got sick. We were beyond happy with our experience and highly recommend seeing Kutná Hora or any other location with Michal!
Michal was absolutely outstanding!!! If I could give him more stars than 5 I would! Firstly, a very pleasant and kindly man that we enjoyed conversing with greatly! Very knowledgeable and intelligent. Answered every question we had completely. Not only did we learn a great deal about the sites we visited bust also a vast amount on Czech history and present day thinking and many recommendations for back in Prague. Transportation vehicle was very comfortable and clean. Outstanding experience!!
