Learn about the heritage of the Constantia Winelands on our full-day tour and visit the 5 wine farms which originally formed part of the Simon van der Stel Constantia wine farm: Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Buitenverwachting, Constantia Uitsig, and Steenberg. We recommend enjoying a beautiful lunch overlooking the vineyards and pairing it with some of the best wines produced in South Africa. After the wine farm and wine tasting experience, we then continue to one of ten National Botanical Gardens covering 5 of South Africa's 6 different biomes. Here you will immerse yourself in the richest flower kingdom in the world while learning about the history & natural heritage of the region you'll also enjoy the fresh air and scenic views of the garden. Situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch is internationally acclaimed as one of the seven most magnificent botanical gardens in the world. The 528 hectares’ estate includes a cultivated garden and a nature reserve. The developed garden displays collections of southern African plants including many rare and endangered species. There are also visitor facilities in the garden including restaurants, a nursery, a gift shop, a bookshop and a permanent Zimbabwean stone sculpture exhibition.
We then proceed to the historical Groot (meaning Big) Constantia wine estate. Groot Constantia is the oldest wine producing farm in South Africa since 1685 and even after the farm had changed ownership, it still maintains the production of high quality, award-winning wine. The farm produces 70% Red and 30% White cultivars. We can recommend a beautiful lunch either at Simon’s Restaurant or at Jonkershuis Restaurant, both set on this exquisite wine estate.
We begin our Simon van der Stel wine tour with Buitenverwachting (meaning Beyond expectation) wine estate. This too, had formed part of the original Constantia farm which was found by Simon van der Stel. Even though it changed ownership, they retraced the roots of the estate and restored the historical buildings on the farm. The farm produces 8 % Red, 90% White and 2 % Rose cultivars.
End of the tour and drop off the guest at their hotel or preferred place around Cape Town Central only.

The tour was most wonderful experience . I am more knowledgeable about roots of the southafrican Freedom movement. We got picked up on time by our driver and given a briefing before our tour. I got mixed reactions when talking to capetonians about visiting Robben Island

Beautiful gardens. We took the 90 minute guided tour which was very enlightening. The volunteer had great information and was very willing to share her expertise.
The wine testing and botanical garden was just amazing. The driver picard me on time and behaved kindly all the way ghroughout the tour. I enjoyed his knowledgeable explanations and his driving skills. I would recommend this company to everyone visiting Cape Town
This was billed as a “tour” but it was not. Instead of a tour guide as we expected, we had a driver who dropped us off at the Kirstenbosch Garden and then dropped us off at the winery before taking us back to the hotel. So what did we pay $300 for? We could have used Uber for under $50. Visiting these sites was very enjoyable but there was no added value for booking this “tour.” We could have saved lot of money by arranging transportation ourselves.
It was raining on our scheduled tour day, but we still had a fantastic time! Our driver was great. We highly recommend this tour!
