Itinerary

Nairobi food tour offers guests a culinary experience carefully curated food adventure, led by your team of Nairobi tastemakers. Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, and the limitations of street food vendors and local eateries mean we cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian or halal diets. ✔ No pork diets, gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, mild tree nut / peanut allergies and no seafood diets are possible though some tastings do not have alternatives available and the menu would be more limited.

Explore Nairobi’s food culture on your daily 4-hour lunch tour through central neighbourhoods, with 15+ tastings from street vendors and family-run eateries.

Don’t expect fine dining - this is a moveable feast built around the dishes beloved by locals.
You’ll begin with simple, comforting staples like uji (cassava porridge) and supu ya kuku served with spiced masala chai, before moving into the core of Kenyan cooking. Along the way, try ugali with greens like sukuma wiki and osuga, fish in coconut sauce, and popular street foods like crispy viazi karai and beef sambusa. There are heartier stops too, including goat nyama choma barbecue and slow-cooked dishes served with rice and broth. You’ll also sample seasonal fruits and local sweets to finish. This tour offers a crash course in the Nairobi’s authentic food scene through the eyes of a local tastemaker guide.

Like exploring Nairobi's food scene with a good friend

We had a brilliant time with Amos in Nairobi, spending around 5 hours exploring the city centre, and learning about traditional Kenyan food and also newer trends in the city'c culinary scene. Amos was super-friendly and a wealth of knowledge, and being with him made it much easier to access and dine at some very local establishments. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour in Nairobi!

This food tour was wonderful! Our guide, Amos, was knowledgeable and fun, and we learned a lot about the food and cultures of Kenya. He took us to local places that we never would have found on our own. Highly recommend this tour!
