The Iconic Koutoubiya mosque was built in the 12th century during the reign of the Almohad empire.Its name means "Librarians" as the area nearby was once a hub for booksellers and schollars.It is still an active place for worship;visitors can just admire its stunning exterior.The mosque and its tower showcases classical Almohad architecture known for its simplicity and symmetry.It served as a modal for its twin mosques in the current capital of Morocco Rabat and also la Giralda in Seville as they were both built by the Almohad empire in the 12th century.
The secret garden is located in the heart of the old city(Medina)It was a section of an old palace datin back to the 16th century(Saadian dynasty)It was eeconstructed in the 19th C.It's a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby quarters.The garden was restored rcently in 2016.Divided into an exotic part featuring plants from all over the world and an Islamic section inspired by the ancient principles of paradise gardens. The secrecy of this place is that it still highlights the ancient water management systems dating back to late 11th century.
You will be lead after to the artisans’ quarters where you you will learn about blacksmith,coppersmiths,leather designers,kaftan,jellaba tunic tailors ,we will have a real at herbalist family of five generations for an insight on the art of cooking,healing and cosmetics….
The Medersa Ben Youssef was a lodging university more than just an Islamic school.It features stunning examples of traditional Moroccan architecture and intricate geometric tilework, showcasing the skill and craftsmanship of the artisans of that era of the 16 th century.The central courtyard, with its beautiful fountain and ornate decorations, is a particularly captivating feature of the medersa. Inside, you can explore the small student cells that once housed the scholars and admire the detailed carvings, stucco work, and calligraphy adorning the walls. The prayer hall, with its elegant mihrab (prayer niche), is another highlight of the medersa. Visiting the Medersa Ben Youssef provides a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience the rich history and architectural splendor of Morocco. We will end the tour at Jamaa el fna square famous for shows and spectacles late afternoons and evenings when it changes to an open air restaurants .This magical unique place is a fest for the senses and classified by Unesco as a world immaterial heritage of humanities.

We booked this walking tour of the Medina with some hesitation – traveling with three young children (9, 7, and 4) can be unpredictable – but it turned out to be the absolute highlight of our week in Marrakech. Our guide, Redouan Adib, was simply outstanding. From the moment we met in Jemaa el-Fnaa, Redouan made everyone feel at ease. He has a natural gift for storytelling and was very knowledgeable. He adjusted the pace perfectly for little legs, stopped whenever our youngest needed a break, and somehow turned every corner of the souk into an adventure. What could have been an overwhelming maze felt safe, fun, and utterly enchanting under Redouan’s guidance. He shared the real life of the Medina – not just the tourist sights – and his passion for his city is contagious. We laughed, we learned, and we left with hearts full and dozens of incredible photos. Redouan was amazing. He was very accommodating and flexible with the tour. He changed it as we went based on out interests. He also showed us some hidden gems in the big market to get good quality products that we alone couldn’t have found. We had a great time. We learned the history of Marrakesh and Morocco and visited some of the major sites in the old city. We took the tour on our first day in the in the city and that gave us a good orientation and ideas for more exploring.
