Itinerary
The introduction takes place outside St Botolph's Church known as the Prostitutes Church because girls used to solicit on the island where it stood.
Moving round to the square beside the church. You then have a description of what life was like in the poverty stricken overcrowded of Whitechapel in 1888. The squalor, crime and degradation of the people living on the breadline.
Mitre Sq/St just inside the City boundary is the stop about Elizabeth Stride (Long Liz) the 1st victim killed by Jack on the night of the double event. Also, we will move a few yards to talk about the death of Catherine Eddowes killed only 45mins later right here!
Now called Middlesex St this is the boundary between the City of London and the Metropolitan area an important distinction as there were separate police forces for these areas.
We proceed to the doorway where the only clue was found on the same route that the police took that night hot on the trail of Jack the Ripper
We view Gunthorpe St from Wentworth St looking towards the spot where Martha Tabram was found murdered on 7th Aug 1888 in George Yard Buildings she is now thought to be the most likely 1st victim of Jack the Ripper
We continue to Brick Lane and stop opposite the Frying Pan Pub on corner of Thrawl St where Mary Ann Nichols had her last drink before staggering down Whitechapel Rd to be murdered by Jack in Bucks Row behind Whitechapel Station
We continue up Brick Lane to turn left into Hanbury Street where Annie Chapman was murdered in the back yard of 29 Hanbury St
We turn into Wilkes St, a street untouched by time sine the 1800's and make our way to Puma Court where you will hear about the Dear Boss letter
We stop opposite the Ten Bells Mary Kelly's favourite pub and also view Christchurch Graveyard known as Itchy Park, where the homeless would sleep in the daytime
Opposite the market is the London Fruit & Wool Exchange we stop in the entrance for the letter sent to George Lusk head of the Whitechapel Vigilance Group
In the square behind the London Fruit & Wool Exchange we end our tour with the murder of Mary Kelly, Jack's last victim killed on 9th Nov 1888. from here it is a 5 min walk to Liverpool St Station where there is a choice of tube train lines

I attended the Jack the Ripper walking tour with my partner on 4/7/26 after booking through a Buy a Gift voucher. The booking process was easy and provided clear, easy-to-follow information about the tour and meeting point. The tour lasted just under two hours, and we were fortunate to have Angie as our Ripperologist. Angie was captivating from the start with her knowledge and genuine passion for history and Jack the Ripper, making the tour incredibly informative. She was able to piece together the events of autumn 1888 in such a way that no important detail, person, or location went without mention. Detailed photos were shown (including the gruesome ones!), which really helped us picture Whitechapel as it would have been. Angie explained at the start that, due to the starting point, the tour wouldn't be in chronological order. However, she regularly refreshed the timeline as we went along and summarised everything perfectly at the end. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in London's history. Book onto one of these tours and you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be looking at some of the company's other tours in the future.
Really enjoyed our evening walking tour. Jenny, our guide was clearly an expert and provided so much fascinating detail and insight not just on the murders, but also brought to life the living conditions and realities of that era. Highly recommend as an activity to do in London
Jenny was a very informative guide. Easy to follow the stories as she painted a clear picture of that time in history. Really brought the streets alive.
Lindsey was very knowledgeable and engaging.M and her photos really helped build a picture of London in that time. Not for young children as some of the pictures are of crime scenes and very graphic.
Thanks for you wonderful review! Lindsay will really appreciate it
Lindsey was very knowledgeable and had some really good visuals with her iPad so you can visualize what the area looked like in 1888. She was upbeat and somewhat witty at times. She has years of experience and it shows. If you are in London and are looking to do a Jack the Ripper tour this is definitely the one you need to sign up for. You will not be disappointed!!!
Thanks for your great review, Lindsay will be very happy as you summed her up perfectly!
Absolutely brilliant tour. We absolutely loved having Jenny as a guide. She was so informative and a great storyteller. High recommend! :)
Thanks so much for your lovely review. I really appreciate it!
Great tour. We scheduled a private tour and pub crawl. Jenny was awesome. Her pictures really put you back in time to imagine what it was like as most of the buildings no longer exist. She was very knowledgeable, took her time on the tour and was just a great personality over all. I highly suggest a tour with her.
Thanks you so much for this great review. I think we all had a great time, I know I did!
Jenny was a great guide. Punctual and very informative. If you are like me and only know the Hollywood version this tour will teach you a lot.
We went on the Jack the Ripper tour as a group of friends and were all really impressed. We spent 2.5 to 3 hours walking round Aldgate and Whitechapel, seeing all the key sites and looking at crime scene photos and drawings. Brilliant value for money considering the ticket price. Jenny was a fantastic tour guide - a real expert! She has researched the Whitechapel murders throughout her career, campaigned for gravestones for the victims and appeared on TV shows as an expert on Jack the Ripper. Her knowledge went above and beyond what we expected when we booked.
This was an amazing tour! Totally recommend it. Serena is a knowledgeable guide with a great sense of homour. We learnt so much. Jenny kindly rescheduled our tour as one family member was ill. this is such a reputa le company. Look no further! A great evening !
Thanks for the lovely review for Serena. I am sure she will appreciate it.
