If you love music, you’ll love this!

We had such a fantastic tour! Our guide, Stirling, was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and he really brought the whole experience to life. He even ended up jamming along with one of our fellow tour members, which made the tour even more special and fun. What I also really enjoyed was how Stirling introduced us to artists I didn’t know much about before. He definitely managed to spark my interest in some new music! All in all, it was a fantastic experience and a real must for anyone who loves music. Highly recommended! 🎶🤘

Tour guide Matthew was magic!

Matthew, our guide, gave us a sterling tour jam packed with fascinating info and stories, it was lovely to be led through the museum by someone so passionate about the Irish music scene. The museum itself is brilliant with rare and valuable memorabilia and items representing various famous bands and individual musicians. Our two teenage boys loved it; being musicians themselves they relished the tour and Matthew made it very interesting for them.

Irish Rock Museum - Short visit to Dublin

Brilliant museum tour in this working music studio. For a first time visitor to Dublin, i would recommend you do this tour towards the beginning of your stay. It gives you the understanding of how Ireland’s rock musicians of different eras developed around that small area of Temple Bar, how they interacted and drew inspiration from each other. Our tour guide was Matthew, a musician himself, he had so much knowledge of the industry and had many interesting facts about the artists and memorabilia.

A must for rock fans - of any age....

Had a fab tour at the Rock and Roll museum on 6th August 2026. I persuaded my daughter to come with me and despite her not knowing most of the legends, she also thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were met by our guide Sterling who was very enthusiastic and also extremely knowledgeable about rock history. I was drawn to this experience because it featured my rock hero - Rory Gallagher (as well as all the better known Irish musicians) The museum is situated in the centre of Temple Bar and is a working studio and live music venue - took me back to my teenage years. The tour even offers the chance of taking part in a jam session - our guide Sterling is an impressive drummer :-) If you are a rock fan , this is a must.

Definitely worth a visit for any Rock fan.

Matthew was our guide and did a great job. He shared great stories and is a musician himself, which added to his presentation. The Thin Lizzy room was very impressive and contained a better collection for any one artist than anything I’ve seen at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland or the Country Hall of Fame in Nashville. The Irish Museum was much smaller than Cleveland and Nashville, but definitely worth a visit. The tour focused on Rory Gallagher, U2, and Thin Lizzy. For any Thin Lizzy fan, this is a must do visit when in Dublin.

Excellent tour with great memorabilia on display

A great guided tour with lots of memorabilia on display. I particularly liked the Thin Lizzy room. Our guide Sterling was excellent and very knowledgeable. I didn't really see the point of the practice room, and wish the film we saw had been a bit longer instead to include other artists such as the Corrs, Hothouse Flowers and Cry Before Dawn
