The Historical Archive Museum of Hydra houses many items donated to the museum by the descendants of the families who dominated the social structure of the island in the 1800's and were instrumental in the launch of the Greek War of Independence. The museum has a distinctive nautical theme which reflects the strategic importance that Hydra held during that time as a safe harbour from which to launch the Greek fleet. The museum is a particularly good place to visit if you are researching the history of Hydra and how it contributed to the development of modern day Greece

The driver was very nice and attentive, but the ride left much to be desired. Many hours of travel for short time in Hydra. A very young driver with little knowledge. He did not talk about the island or the canal during the journey, which could add value. Clean car, but uncomfortable. And the scheduled time in Hidra (3,5 hours, as described by the tour) was reduced to 2 hours. I do not recommend.

Thodoris was wonderful! He went above and beyond to make our trip to Hydra special. He gave us a great history of Athens as we drove, delivered us to the ferry, and scooped us up when we returned.
