08:00: Tour guide and GTrip team will pick you up at your hotel. Start discovering Saigon (Hochiminh City) by Jeep. We will take you a ride and the journey to explore Saigon: Saigon Central Post Office: is one of the most famous and iconic attractions in Ho Chi Minh City with its unique structure and remnants of the city’s past.
Saigon Opera House, which is also known as the Municipal Theater, stands as one of the impressive sights in Saigon – both night and day.
Saigon City Hall: is one of the most striking buildings in Ho Chi Minh City.
Independence Palace: is listed as a historical monument by witnessing great changes of Ho Chi Minh City’s history. Throughout the heroic battles, this amazing work of architecture had witnessed almost every high and low of the Vietnamese war.
The War Remnants Museum: offers a shocking reminder of the long and brutal Vietnam War, displays old military equipment and other related items from the Vietnam War. In the courtyard we will find some larger exhibits including a F5A fighter and a UH1-Huey helicopter.
11:00: Arrive at Cơm Tấm Đỗ Phủ - Since 1946, a restaurant with Saigon pre75’s style decoration: - Have lunch with traditional Saigon Broken Rice (Cơm Tấm) (MUST TRY). - An old Renault car that used to transport weapons. - Explore the secret base, where VC used to store equipment. - Explore the secret weapon armory, learn how VC hid their weapon. - The place used to be a VC Ranger secret base. The central post office surprised me because it still operates like in the old days, people still send letters and buy stamps, it's not just a monument. The notre dame cathedral is under renovation, but it still retains its majestic appearance with red bricks from Marseille. As a French person, i was really surprised to see the imprint of my homeland present in the heart of saigon. Sitting on an old jeep, i passed by the central post office, the city theater, the city hall, all with familiar french architecture. Both nostalgic and full of life. There was a secret arsenal in the restaurant, and listening to the tour guide talk about it felt like watching a movie. In the morning, i was picked up by an old jeep with the roof open, driving through the streets of Saigon, which was so cool. i stopped by the central post office, the city theater, and then the independence palace, each place had its own vibe.
