The Heidelberg story begins with breathtaking views of the ruined castle. We will travel up to the castle easily by funicular (or bus) where we will see: • Battery Park and Deer Moat - where the elector princes enjoyed hunting • Elisabeth Gate and the Hortus Palatinus - the 8th wonder of the world • Castle Courtyard - with the famed Ottheinrichsbuilding • German Pharmacy Museum - everything about medicine from the Middle Ages • The Big Barrel - with an incredible 60, 000 gallons, the largest wine barrel in the world
After the castle our points of interest will be: • Market Square and Hercules Statue • Heilig Geist Church and Kings Burial Site • Old Bridge and Bridge Monkey • Birthplace of Germanys first President • Student Jail + University Museum (Sundays only outside) • Martin Luther Memorial Site We can take a break, have a drink or lunch whenever you please. If you have special interests, just let me know. This itinerary can be customized
