We took the official aurport taxi from Heathrow to Gatwick, I didn’t ask him about the price thinking that they are the official taxis. He charged over double the expected fare. The airport needs to control the airport official taxis

Now here's the thing. I have been travelling between HK and the UK for 25 years. This was the final trip. Relocating to the UK. I have been so organized booking the shippers, closing the house, arranging flights and, knowing I would be exhausted on arrival booking a taxi from the airport. But for the first time in 25 years I got my dates wrong! I booked the taxi for the day AFTER we arrived. I only realized this when changing the date and time on my smart phone when arriving. Oh dear. I had the booking reference and called the company. What a joy it was to hear that it was no problem. A new taxi was arranged and the booking transfered. No extra costs. The driver arrived and took over. I very painless ride to Birmingham. Excellent service. Definitely recommend.
