The square is subject to frequent gatherings which can be volatile, and really should be avoided by foreigners during those times. In calmer moments the square shows the wear and tear of revolution but is pretty central to modern Egyptian political life. Just west of the roundabout is a street called El-Tahrir Street. It is covered in murals depicting the revolutionary feelings. Great artwork. Warm people. Depending on the political climate, worth taking a look.
At a height of 600 feet, this tower offers magnificent views of the entire city and monuments from its revolving rooftop restaurant and bar.
Discover Felucca Rides On The Nile In Cairo. These Egyptian sailboats have been used for millennia to move up & down the Nile, but they are also an ideal way for a relaxing night, making the most of stay.
Is a major north-to-south street in the walled city of historic Cairo, Egypt. It is one of Cairo's oldest streets as it dates back to the foundation of the city (not counting the earlier Fustat) by the Fatimid dynasty in the 10th century, under their fourth caliph, Al-Mu'izz li-Din Allah (after whom the street is named).[1] Historically, it was the most important artery of the city and was often referred to as the Qasaba (or Qasabah). It constituted the main axis of the city's economic zones where its souqs (markets) were concentrated. The street's prestige also attracted the construction of many monumental religious and charitable buildings commissioned by Egypt's rulers and elites, making it a dense repository of historic Islamic architecture in Cairo. This is especially evident in the Bayn al-Qasrayn area, which is lined with some of the most important monuments of Islamic Cairo.
Walking down El Moez Street there are so many beautiful buildings to be admired, among them being the famous Al Aqmar mosque. One of the oldest mosques in Egypt, its façade is known for its detailed stonework, while its interior welcomes all visitors with a fresh, cooling breeze. A haven for architectural enthusiasts, Al Qamar mosque is said to have been built during the Fatimid period in 1125 AD under the regime of Al-Ma’mun Al Bata’ihi, though some historians argue it was built during the caliphate of Imam Al-Amir bi-Ahkami l-Lah; others still claim that it was built during the caliphate of Al Mustansir.
The mosque is located at the beginning of al-Muizz li Din Allah Street, adjacent to the Fatimid northern wall of the Old City of Cairo in Egypt, only a few steps away from Bab al-Futuh (Gate of Conquest) and Bab al-Nasr (Gate of Victory). At the time of its construction, the mosque lay outside the brick-built walls encircling Fatimid Cairo, constructed by order of Jawhar al-Saqalli, the commander of the armies of the Fatimid caliph, al-Muizz li-Din Allah in AH 359 / AD 970. In AH 480 / AD 1087. Badr al-Din al-Jamali, minister of the Fatimid caliph al-Mustansir, undertook the expansion of the city on the northern and southern ends, for a distance of 150 m. He built the new walls out of stone and the north wall butted on to the northeastern wall of the mosque, Cairo, Egypt

An unforgettable experience with Ahmed Kassab! From the late afternoon quad ride through sunset, to the delicious meal and the visit of Old Cairo, everything was perfectly organized. Ahmed made the whole experience feel authentic, warm, and incredibly friendly. It honestly felt more like spending the day with a friend than with a guide. Thank you for these amazing memories — I highly recommend it 100%!

Very informative visit and I particularly recommend the Francophone guide MICKAEL . We visited Cairo twice, each time with him, and his help was invaluable, his explanations clear and rich in detail. A perfect guide.
With SARAH, Francophone guide, AU Cairo, visit Museums and Souk, the guide with a captivating knowledge of Egyptian history. For the Souk interesting global tour, little more the guide knows small shops where quality objects are sold, made in EGYPT.
We had a good experience with our guide, Ayman. He was very hardworking and helpful, willing to help and provide an Egypt experience. Thank you for your support. We recommend your services.

Memphis Tours solved everything from start to finish in our 8 days! Perfect coordination and flexibility of everything we visited: pyramids, temples, meals, Nile cruise, local flights, anyway, we were not alone at any time. The guides Mohamed and Medhat are champions, they know a lot and explained every detail and query (all in Spanish). Thank you! We traveled the country from north (Cairo) to south (Abu Simbel) accompanied by tourism professionals, all quiet and at no time felt unsafe. Egypt is a great country and worth coming to. I assure you that with Memphis the experience will be unforgettable and you should not worry about anything. The service on the cruise ship Salacia with all its crew was outstanding. We had a great time! Thanks also to the country officials (Ibrahim and Yahya) and the drivers. Geniuses! Very grateful.
Seif, my guide, was wonderful! Very kind, relaxed and very professional. I would advise especially for Thiê who want to know Cairo beyond mede tourism. Excelent experience!
Dear esteemed guest! Thank you for reviewing Memphis Tours Egypt , we’re humbled by your support and look forward to being your preferred choice in the future .
It was an amazing tour, to be able to see the reality of the daily life of the Egyptian people, visualize the city from the top of the tower, sail boat through the Nile and finish a typical dinner!
Perfect organization, professional guides, timely and accurate Egyptair transfers and flights, priceless Dahabiya cruise ... We already knew the Nile Valley and its wonders, but Memphis Tour and its collaborators provided us with first-class support ... let us advise you, it is really worth it ...
It was an exceptional Tour, I had the opportunity to meet many people. Especially the guide Ibrahim the Sherbiny who accompanied me on tours during Cairo. The service was very punctual and flexible understanding my tastes and my schedules. I also wanted to highlight the work of Hanan Mahmoud who helped me throughout the booking and organization. It was a very special tour!! and I am sure that I will make future trips with this company
There is no video, documentary or photo that can give as much amazement and emotion as the real-life visit to the treasures of Egypt, both by visiting the archaeological sites and admiring the natural panorama during the Nile cruise. We traveled in May, at the beginning of the low season, but still in time to avoid melting in the great southern heat. The advantage was that we didn't find any crowds or queues. The staff at Memphis was exceptional and very professional. In each city we were welcomed and facilitated in all steps by the agency representatives who assisted us in everything with great availability and courtesy (Abdul in Cairo, Ahmed in Luxor and Ramadan in Aswan). I fondly remember the excellent guides who accompanied us: Emilio in Abu Simbel, Alì for four days in the sites visited during the Nile cruise and finally the prof. Sherif in Cairo. Even during the booking and organization phase we were followed by Khaloud with great kindness and precision. Lastly, something that may seem like a small thing, but it isn't, we have always been provided with the necessary water. I definitely recommend relying on Menphis Tour for trips to Egypt.
