I Bought the tickets from online for my families for standard seats but when we redeem the tickets at Theater we saw the standard seats are lower price. If u have time, try to go earlier to buy the tickets directly at ticket counter.
It's an imposition to pick up tickets for a theater performance and a completely different location. And if this place isn't occupied, it's just not fun. Never again would I book the tickets through this organization.
DO NOT use the Trip Advisor linked company to buy tickets. They didn't give us the tix even after they were confirmed, then said only premium tix were left for the time we wanted, all basically to get us to upgrade if we wanted our time. They WAY OVERCHARGED us for the upgrade, and the seats were terrible, in the front but on the side, so we could see nothing and were getting annihilated by the overpowered speakers. The kicker was that there were people buying the cheaper tickets at the show for our performance as we came in. I don't know what all this racket involves, but you can avoid it entirely. Just show up in Hanoi, go to the theater when it's open the day before you want to see the show, and buy the tickets there and then.
Dear Mr Charles, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify that prior to your visit, we contacted you regarding the original ticket category being sold out but received no response. When you came to our office, we offered you the option of a full refund or rescheduling but you chose to proceed with an upgrade to VIP seats for the 17:20 show. The pricing difference is due to the higher-tier seating and the additional fees on online booking platforms such as TripAdvisor. While the seats provided were within the VIP section as described, we regret to hear that they did not meet your expectations. Your feedback regarding the sound and visibility is noted and will be shared with the theater team. Thank you again for your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve. We hope to welcome you back and make up for your experience in the future.
Bought “VIP” tickets but there was nothing VIP about the experience. You are actually buying the tickets through a 3rd party and have to walk a few blocks away from the actual venue to pick up your tickets. Not exactly convenient or VIP. It would have been easier to just purchase tickets at the theater’s ticket window. The performance itself was interesting but we were a bit lost due to the language barrier.
Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the ticket collection process didn’t meet your expectations. Buying tickets online with us guarantee you a spot for the show, compared to buying the tickets at the theater, as they often sell out quickly on the day of the show itself. Water puppet is an art show so understanding what they say isn't necessary, the focal point is the music and the mastery of puppetry. Regardless, we hope you enjoyed the show. Thank you for sharing your experience, as it helps us improve our services. Best regards, Customer Care Team
We really enjoyed this experience, the puppeteers were so clever and it was great to see them appear at the end of the show. We found the audio guide helpful to understand some of the stories. The wooden puppets were adorable. A very enjoyable hour in Hanoi.
The play was enjoyable. The traditional music was an added bonus. I would highly recommend using the audio translator.
The water puppet show was interesting - the way they could control and move the puppets on/under water was amazing to watch. The show is for 50mins which is the perfect duration for this. Any longer and people would get bored. Some tips: 1. Audio guide is a must or you won’t understand what’s going on. 2. Take the VIP tickets which is the first 4 rows or it’s too far to see the tiny puppets. The first row is the best. 3. If you are booking online, the tickets are very expensive. I paid nearly 60% extra on Tripadvisor. The other sites like booking.com were charging nearly double. Also you won’t be able to select which row or which seat when you book online. I saw many people book directly at the theatre on the day they land in Hanoi and they could choose their seats at the counter. This seems to be a better option. A few things they should do better. 1. Stop allowing people after the show starts. Many people came in 10mins late and made others get up while they got to their seats. Very bad. 2. Ask people not to record. Many people just held up their phones to record the show for extended durations. This obstructs the view (which is not great to begin with). Yet another reason to get the first couple of rows.
Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for sharing your detailed and thoughtful review. We're so glad you found the water puppet show to be an interesting experience and enjoyed the unique artistry involved in performing on water. It’s great to hear you felt the 50-minute duration was just right! We also really appreciate the practical tips you've shared—especially about the audio guide and seating choices. These insights will definitely help future visitors make the most of their time at the show. Your feedback about the entrance policy and phone recordings is very valuable, and we’ll make sure to pass it along to the theatre team. We understand how important it is to maintain an uninterrupted and enjoyable viewing experience for all guests. Thanks again for taking the time to write this—your comments truly help us improve. Kind regards, Customer Care Team
If you are in Hanoi do not miss this show. 50 minutes well spent. I enjoyed it a lot. Great music, great show!
This is most certainly over rated, what complicates this further is that there is absolutely no prelude/explanation provided in English so while the entire show is in Vietnamese (understandably) its purely upto your creative imagination to figure out what scene is being depicted. However if you have never seen a puppet show ever in your life and you have a hour and some extra cash to spare then it is probably something you should consider to visit.
The show is very interesting & innovative. Generally well performed on Vietnamese fishermen life in old days
