The Hanoi Opera House, or the Grand Opera House is an opera house in central Hanoi, Vietnam. It was erected by the French colonial administration between 1901 and 1911. Hanoi Opera House is one of three opera houses that the French built during their time in Indochina, the others are Haiphong Opera House and Municipal Theatre in Ho Chi Minh city.

The Temple of Literature is often cited as one of Hanoi’s most picturesque tourist attractions. Originally built as a university in 1070 dedicated to Confucius, scholars and sages, the building is extremely well preserved and is a superb example of traditional-style Vietnamese architecture.

Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital lies in the North of the country and is one of the country’s top tourist hot spots. It offers French-colonial architecture, a rich food culture and a long history (the city celebrated its millennium in 2010.) The most well known and important districts in Hanoi are Ba Dinh District (aka the French Quarter) where the government offices are located and Hoan Kiem District (aka the Old Quarter) which is considered the city’s business hub and main tourist destination.

30 min

Long Bien Bridge is one of the most ancient bridges in Vietnam, an ideal place for tourists to visit, explore, and commemorate the heroic history of Vietnam. Visiting Long Bien Bridge in Vietnam, do not forget to carry a camera to capture the breathtaking scenery here. The rustic appearance of the bridge matches very well with both traditional and modern outfits. That is the reason why many youngsters come to this place to take photos and capture their youth in the vibrant capital city. Meanwhile, the elderly often come to the bridge to reminisce about the nation's heroic history.

5.30am Early Morning Market Tour

I booked my Daughter(14yrs) and I on a 5.30am early morning Motor bike tour of the Flower Market, Fruit and Vege Market. Long and Oliver turned up at our accommodation on time and we hoped on the back of there bikes. They took us to the markets, we got off and Oliver walked through and explained in excellent English the markets to us. We then went riding around through the farms along the Red River and then around Hanoi. We had a breakfast with them in a cafe then rode a bit more and had a fruit salad desert at another cafe. They were in no Rush, safe riders and very approachable. Can't recommend any higher, after this we booked a Foot food tour one night and a hr cyclo tour through Hanoi.

What a great way to see Hanoi!

Today will go down as one of the most memorable days of my life. Left early on the back of a motorbike with my AMAZING, English speaking tour guide, Mia to really experience Hanoi. We made some tourist stops: Opera House, Temple of Literature, Catholic Cathedral. But most of the day was spent zipping through neighborhoods and seeing how Hanoians live. I had amazing Bún chả on a tiny stool on the sidewalk, browsed through markets, and ended the day sipping egg coffee with locals. Mia was a wonderful host in Hanoi and knew so much history of her city and its people. She also knew the best hidden gems for food and coffee. It was a perfect day and I would highly suggest it for any visitor in Hanoi. I have been here a few times, but never saw the city like this!
