tour guide was going over to fast and skip important sections started at 9 back at hotel at 10:30 2 and 1 half hours
After booking the tour, the agency reached out in reasonable time to confirm the particulars and get a few more details (assuming to improve my experience). At the meeting time I was met as arranged, and escorted into an almost brand new car, I was welcomed warmly by the staff, and met with a conveniently placed bottle of water and light snack for the 30 minute drive to the destination. ** By this stage it was clear to me that the tour agency was professional - a level significantly higher than that which I had become accustomed to on my tour review of Egypt in September 2025 ** Upon reaching the destination, the tour guide appeared very unassured and spoke very weakly and unclear in English. Unfortunately the tour did not improve moving forward with the provided guide Ms. Heba. The tour guide Ms. Heba took me to the exhibits that she was aware of, struggling to explain anything outside of her selective scope. After 70 minutes of the 3 hour tour (4 hours, but removing 1 hour travel time), the guide gave me "free time" to look around - which isn't exactly why you have a guide, if I wanted a taxi somewhere I would have simply arranged so. At this point Ms. Heba was very professional, and i simply thought that she was struggling with all the walking, as we "took a seat" a few times whilst she explained some things, and thought that she needed to rest, which of course most people would sympathize with and excuse her, as I did. After another 30 minutes when I didn't meet her where suggested as per her schedule, she came looking for me, and told me its time to leave (which it wasnt). As we left, I was hurried through the gift shop. Once we met the driver, it was suggested by Ms. Heba that I didn't want to visit the tour agencies shop and it was then clear that the guide herself has a personal agenda to end the tour an hour earlier than scheduled. ** In my experience a guide has never not promoted the associated shop visit, this was a first for me ** Overall I was very disappointed that my guide couldn't explain many things to me, slightly discouraged by the guides speach problems (but was happy to work through this), but most disappointed that I wasnt provided with enough time to view all the exhibits - including the gift shop - (which would have occurred if the tour wasn't cut short). ** Note that the tour was booked on a Saturday from 9am to 1pm ** I would use this agency again, but would not accept the same tour guide again. I would be interested to know anyone else's experience with the mentioned guide.
Had an amazing tour guide very knowledgeable took his time. Explainef stuff I wish there was 10 stars instead of five would recommend him to anybody.
2nd experience with "Emo Tour" and it's really not great. 15 minutes late and they're on the wrong street again. At least this time, they warned us the day before the change of schedule. When we arrived, we were surprised to see a guide waiting for us. We had selected the option "audio guide" instead of "guide" thinking we would have an audio device so we could take our time during the tour. The visit in question: We had booked for half a day, 4h on the app. Our guide presented us with barely an eighth of what was exhibited in 1 hour, very hurried, he passed quickly over the pieces he deigned to approach and seemed very annoyed when we stopped to take pictures. Incidentally, but if your job is to talk to people, brush your teeth, it made the experience even more painful. At the end of this guided tour, he gave us 20 minutes to visit the rest of the museum, I remind you that we saw almost nothing. At the end of the 20 minutes, he comes back to the museum and complains that we are taking too long, and we finally ask him to leave and we will go home on our own. The museum itself was very interesting, but a little disorganized for our taste. Unfortunately, some pieces were missing because they were moved to the future Giza Museum. The centerpieces of the tomb of Tuthankhammon, mask, sarcophagus and others were still very fortunately present. We advise you to go and buy your tickets yourself and enjoy the tour at your own pace, there are some very nice parts to see and it would be a shame to miss them because of a too hurried guide.
They canceled my reservation without warning me, I contact them and tell me that they had written me an email, NEVER ARRIVED, contacted I ask for a refund, NOTHING, so I ask for a refund of the total amount of the 2 tickets, for this INEFFICIENT service
Shows hystory in old fashioned way. Weird we watch the efforts to maintain the afterlife of humans living 3000 years ago, kind of steeling from the death? But surely worth seeing the exhibition! Even with amputated arms, legs or heads it’s great to feel the birth of mankind nearby.
This is a very busy museum. It is best to get a guide outside. Our guide was an older man who was part of some of the dogs. He was great and we enjoyed our visit and learned a lot.
All of the halls were so awesome and informative. We spent 2.5 hours there. It was a a Sunday so it was somewhat crowded especially King Tut's room.
i enjoyed viewing the Tut exhibit again-i first saw it in 1991--and many parts of the museum are well organized, but many exhibits remain unlabeled and many labels are quite old. It appears that there is still organizational work to be done, and the new museum may take funds, visitors & attention away from this museum that seems to be seriously in need. It is still well worth visiting!
Thought I fell for fraudsters at first, as I was always stalled after paying with the cards (WhatsApp contact was made from the Egyptian Museum Cairo). But on time in the morning due cards arrived via WhatsApp. Then everything worked out great. Come to the museum on time and enjoy a great day.
