Visit this amazing garden at the heart of the city of Cape Town. Take a leisurely walk as you admire the fauna and flora in this place. The trees are the star attractions, the ginko tree, the towering rubber tree, the ancient saffron and the 80 year old bamboo plantation. The garden is also home to South African National Gallery which houses impressive permanent collection of South African art. There is African, British, French, Dutch and Flemish art also. Another form of attraction is offered in the wide range of critters that include the pigeons, Egyptian Geese, herons, rodents and an aviary with dozens of bird species. Buy a bag of peanuts and feed the squirrels who would be glad to scamper up your arm for a snack of peanuts. Also learn about how the city fathers reacted then and now with the unending court battles between those affected and the city fathers. Also learn how it resulted in the creation of the so called townships which are all over South African cities.

Learn about how the respective governments between the Dutch and the British used this place for administrative purposes. Highly recommend! Couldnt ask for a better guide Ordain was very accommodating and knowledgeable about everything Capetown. He answered all my historical questions and gave me a great experience 10/10
Best guide ever on our Cape Peninsula Tour. From Chapman’s Peak to Cape Point, Ordain made every stop come alive with stories, history, and the best photo spots. Attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel like VIPs all day. It was all a solid 10/10.
Thank you so much . It was so wonderful to take your group out to the Peninsula. You are excited tourers and it made me enjoy your company. Let's do it again.
Ordain was excellent. He shared key historical highlights. And made a couple of extra stops that were on our list.
I was thrilled to meet you and take you on the tour . I also enjoyed to see your keen excitement on the garden walk. You also made my work so easy by your plant knowledge.
Our knowledgeable guide, Ordain, took us on an amazing overview of Cape Town’s rich history. Thank goodness his tour was by vehicle as it enabled us to see so much of Cape Town that would have been impossible by foot. We learned about the Dutch and British colonists and how they shaped CapeTown, as well as the various indigenous people. We also heard about Mandela and Desmond Tutu, among other high and low points in their history. We saw the beautiful but powerful Atlantic at Camps Bay, drove up to Table Mountain though it was closed due to high winds and storms, and learned about the Townships. Ordain is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. It was a highlight of our Cape Town trip. I highly recommend his tour!
Hello Susan Thank you so much for choosing to city tour with me . I was wonderfully excited to guide you recognizing how curious you were to grasp every detail of the history of South Africa through Cape Town. I learnt a lot from you two regarding the couple aspect of life . I was amazed by how you so nicely complimented each other as a couple. All the best for you.
What an amazing way to experience the highlights of Cape Town, while also learning lots about its history and culture. Ordain is a superb guide, highly knowledgable, extending from fauna to politics and everything in between. He's also a lovely, personable chap. Being a small group also allows for flexibility (eg we went to Table Mountain first to avoid the crowds, while also facilitating unscheduled stops for a walk around. Seriously, if you have limited time in Cape Town, or even if you don't, this is a must-book tour: especially if you can get Ordain.
That was wonderful. I am so thrilled with excitement to hear that you enjoyed the city tour to that extent. Thank you and you are welcome to come back for second time around .
