Itinerary
Let's Cyclo! Our guide will pick you up at your hotel which located very centrally in District 1. From there, you’ll be introduced to your driver and hop on your cyclo. You’ll see unique aspects of Ho Chi Minh City’s culture and be immersed in it from the get go! After what promises to be an exciting ride, we’ll arrive at the stunning Reunification Palace while your knowledgeable guide tells you all about its history and significance. We don’t enter the landmark on this tour, but it’s a great chance to learn about the exceptional building and snap some pictures too!
More Unmissable Architecture Next we’ll head to the famous Notre Dame Cathedral and the Post Office where you’ll get to admire the interior of these French Colonial buildings. Then your guide will show you the historic CIA Building where the last U.S Helicopter flew out of HCMC in 1975. You’ll learn all about the last U.S Operation, Frequent Wind. Please note, we are currently unable to enter the Notre Dame Cathedral as it is closed for renovation.
See HCMC's Most Iconic Spots Once we’ve marvelled at the French architecture, we’ll get back on our cyclos and enjoy a quick ride to the Hotel Continental complex where Graham Greene and many other famous writers called home during their Vietnam stay. You’ll see the roadside cafe at the Hotel along with the impressive Opera House where scenes from “The Quiet American” were filmed. The City Hall and the Historic Rex Hotel are up next, your guide will fill you in on both building’s history.
See The City Like A Local From here we’ll hop back on the cyclos for a 30-minute ride along Nguyen Hue Street, one of the most beautiful streets in the whole city. Now’s your chance to experience the real Ho Chi Minh City just as a local does! Gaze at the Saigon River and other impressive landmarks such as the city’s tallest building, the mighty Bitexco! We will then head through the Old Market which is crammed full of food produce and street food stalls.
The Adventures Not Over Yet! After the market we continue our tour by passing some of the city’s Indian Temples, Ben Thanh market and Tao Dan Park. Then it is on to the memorial of Thich Quang Duc, where your knowledgeable guide will explain its history and significance. Then, we cyclo to our last stop War Remnants Museum where we say goodbye to our drivers. This museum is a must-see spot to learn about Vietnam War in different perspective. Be prepared to be moved by Vietnam’s upsetting past!

Chris was a fabulous guide - friendly, knowledgeable and great sense of humour. Our cyclo drivers were great too - got us safely through the crazy Ho Chi Minh traffic!! A great morning in this beautiful city
Great private tour of HCMC with two bicycle carts, we saw and got a lot explained! The guide took great care of us!
The tour with the Cyclo through HCM and our guide Nam was a lot of fun for Mega. We visited great places and he told us a lot. Thank you very much
My husband and I really enjoyed the half day cyclo tour with Mr. Hung from Maika Tours! Mr. Hung is very knowledgeable about the city and history, having lived much of his life in Saigon, and he spoke passionately about the sights and his related experiences. Plus the cyclo (one for each of my husband and I) was an amazingly unique way to experience the city. Highly recommend this tour and Mr. Hung, and the bahn mi he got for us was amazing too!
Dear Barbara W, Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences with us. We're so cheerful that you hopped on the xích lô - a unique Vietnamese cyclo - to get the truly amazing vibes of the city. And surely our guide, Mr. Hung knows where to get the best bánh mì. Wish your future trips will be filled with little beautiful things, just like those. The Maika Tours Team
