The fort itself is one of the greatest medieval fortifications in India — 15 large towers, 51 small towers and 446 openings across 11 kilometres of walls, with an acoustic system so precisely engineered that a single hand clap at the base gate is clearly audible at the royal apartments 90 metres above. The Qutub Shahi Tombs nearby are the mausoleums of the seven kings who built Golconda, set in gardens where even criminals who took refuge were traditionally pardoned. The architectural blend of Persian, Pathan and Hindu styles is found nowhere else in India. Built in AD 1143 as a mud fort, it was fortified between the 14th and 17th centuries and served as the principle Palace of the Bahmani Sultans and the Qutub Shahi dynasty. Our next destination in the half day Hyderabad tour is the Qutub Shahi Tombs were erected in the memory of the old kings of Golconda. The arch, columns, dome minarets, and galleries look exquisite and are surrounded by gardens called Ibrahim Bagh. As per legend, these tombs were revered during the rule of the Qutub Shahi Kings and even criminals taking refuge here were pardoned.

Ms. Shashi did an excellent job of guiding me and adapting her explanations to my engineering mind set . Focusing attention on construction aspects without forgetting the cultural and religious sides of the places .highly recommend her as a tour guide .

My husband and I booked this tour as a way to learn some of the history of the city. “Jolly Jon”, our tour guide, picked us up in a car with a driver and took us to see the fort and nearby tombs of the royal family. Absolutely fascinating! Jon is passionate about sharing the history of his city and country. We were really able to envision life in the fort and surrounding area. This was a tour we won’t forget and would highly recommend.

Anand and Mujeeb were amazing. They explained the history of everything we passed on the tour. They were extremely accommodating and wonderfully friendly. The experience was once in a lifetime and they knocked it out of the park. If I could give them 10 stars it wouldn’t be enough. Anand seemed to know everyone and it made the tour so comfortable.
Srinu is a good storyteller and made the tour enjoyable. It was good to see the places in comfort with a knowledgeable local. Every detail was taken care of abd it made the 4 hour tour go by quickly.
I enjoyed the trip a lot, and this guided tour was a great opportunity to learn more about the history of the place, and get a great view over the city. Even though I booked only the evening before, my guide picked me up at the hotel the next morning. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Really enjoyable and informative tour. I would highly recommend this, and if I return to India I will be using this company for future tours. Special call out to our tour guide, Sashi, who was extremely knowledgable and accommodating. She has been guiding tours in Hyderabad for 22 years, and it showed! Even though it was rainy we still had a great experience at the Fort and Tombs. Both are definitely well worth a visit and have a rich history.
