If you love exploring religious cultures than this is the perfect vacation for you. - Visit Eklingji, a little village with a number of ancient temples situated in a religious complex in the northern region of Mewar houses 108 temples chiseled out of sandstone and marble built in 734 AD. - Nagda is a small town in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Nagda is located besides Bagela Lake at a distance of 23 kms in the north-west of Udaipur on the way to Nathdwara. Nagda comprises many small and big temples, but the main attraction is gained by its 'Sahastra Bahu' Temples.

Itinerary
Your tour starts with a morning pickup from your hotel in Udaipur, followed by a drive to Eklingji, situated about 20 km from the city.
Upon arrival at Eklingji Temple, spend a few hours exploring the renowned temple complex. Eklingji Temple is a Hindu temple complex in Kailashpuri, Udaipur, Rajasthan, and is the Kula Devata of the Mewar Dynasty. Originally built by Bappa Rawal in the 8th century, the temple was destroyed by Delhi Sultanate invasions. In the 14th century, Hamir Singh renovated the temple and installed the first extant idol. Rana Kumbha rebuilt it in the 15th century, adding a Vishnu temple. After an attack by Ghiyath Shah in the late 15th century, Rana Raimal reconstructed the temple using the ransom from Ghiyath Shah. Initially belonging to the Pashupata sect, it later came under the control of the Nath sect in the 16th century. After the completion of your Eklingji tour, you will proceed to Nagda.
The Sahasra Bahu Temples (also called Sasbahu Temples) in Nagda, Rajasthan, are a pair of 10th-century Hindu temples dedicated to Virabhadra. They share a platform, with the larger temple surrounded by ten subsidiary shrines and the smaller by four. The temples display Māru-Gurjara architecture, with a sanctuary, mandapa, open porch, and brick shikharas. While much of the exterior is plain, the interiors and porches are lavishly carved. The smaller temple has a restored shikhara, while the larger remains truncated. The temples are locally known as Sas Bahu, a corruption of Sahasra-Bahu (meaning "One with thousand arms," a form of Vishnu). Nagda was once an important city of Mewar, possibly a capital. In 1226, Iltutmish destroyed Nagda. Nearby is the Adbhutji Shanthinath Jain Tirth or Nagahyuda Jain Mandir, an ancient Jain center. The temples are listed as heritage monuments by the Archaeological Survey of India.

Salim was an excellent tour guide and considerate and safe driver. He took me to numerous sites in the beautiful countryside north of Udiapur. Places which would have been difficult to visit on public transport. He was very knowledgeable and provided excellent English descriptions of the historical, cultural and religious significance of the sites of Eklingji and Nagda. It was a morning well spent and I highly recommend this tour.

Our driver was SALIM. He did an excellent job of communicating the night before and was on time to pick us up and took us to all the places that we were scheduled to go and showed us a few extra things as well. We enjoyed talking with him and his English was very good. Very smooth and easy experience.

The tour with Salim is a fantastic way to spend your time in Udaipur. Salim took us to magical spots off the beaten path. I highly recommend visiting these two temples. Mr. Sajid was a kind and helpful driver, giving some historical information along the way. He even took us to a few other nice places that were well worth visiting and weren’t even part of the tour.

I took this tour a few days ago and it was wonderful. I recommend the took took just for the fun scenery, but it’s a lot of highway driving so the car would also be a great option. We visited several temples, many of which had no tourist and were wide open to explore and take pictures absolutely beautiful highly recommend.

Salim was an excellent tour guide, he took me via the backroads through a picturesque farming village to both temples. A true taste of India and a stunning tour that should not be missed.
