Itinerary
As soon as you meet your guide at the exit of Icharishahar metro station, we will enter Baku Old Town, called "Icharishahar". Old Town of Baku is a beautiful maze, full of narrow streets, surprising sights, old wooden balconies, stone roads and an atmosphere that you'll never forget. A discovery by itself, every time you visit this part of the city. Your guide will tell you stories of locals about the Old Town and how it was changed and developed throughout the history.
Museum of Miniature Books used to be in the Guinness Books of World Records until recently, but still it has a great collection of miniature and even almost microscopic books. A small museum that will be our first stop on our way to discover more! Please keep in mind that on Mondays this museum is closed.
Next, enter the Shirvanshahs’ Palace, the central part of ancient Shiranshahs kingdom and dive into the spirit of Islamic civilization while passing through the courtyard and king’s private rooms. Get to know the history of the palace and visit the mausoleums that witnessed many troubles for the past two centuries.
Second place we will visit is the most remarkable and mysterious monument – the Maiden Tower, built in the south-east part of the Old Town. Once you immerse yourself into the experience of discovering such extraordinary building, you will know why it is considered as the symbol of Baku.
Before we head to Baku Boulevard, we will have an hour long lunch break, so you can take some rest, but also enjoy national dishes made by the soulful Azerbaijani people. Our guide will give you few options for lunch and it's completely up to you what to eat and drink. If you choose Food & Drinks included option when booking, your guide will take you to a national restaurant located in the downtown.
After we enter Baku Boulevard, we will head to the Carpet Museum. The museum is a must see if you are in Baku at least for a day. If booked for Monday, please note that the Carpet Museum is closed, so we will substitute Carpet Museum with another venue.
Enjoy the ride in a funicular while getting a short glimpse of Baku city up above from the hills of Baku.
Right by the Martyrs' Lane, you will see the Flame Towers, famous for their unique modern architectural design.
Martyrs' Alley is an exhibition of Azerbaijanis' courage against Soviet occupation. Get a glimpse of the end of totalitarian Soviet regime during our visit of Martyrs' Alley.
At the Uphill Park, you will get a chance to see stunning view of the city. Great spot for selfies to show off your visit to Azerbaijan! :)

Great tour, covering alot of historical and modern sites. Riad was very knowledgeable on Baku's history and a great guide. Definitely worth doing to get orientated with the city and make sure you haven't missed the important sites, especially if you're short on time. Lunch was also delicious. Highly recommend!
I had a private tour. My guide, Mirhashim was excellent. He was friendly & very informative on Azerbaijan history. We had a lovely day for a walk in the Old Town. As a mature age solo traveller, he really looked after me. Mirhashim was considerate of the pace, and was passionate about his role. He showed me the major sights and kept my interest with his informative style. I was particularly impressed by his consideration. We stopped for breaks and he helped me to navigate the big steps in the Palace complex. Later in the day when it got cold & windy he lent me his coat, and supported me when the wind nearly blew me away! He was flexible with the itinerary and we saw everything. He got me home via taxi, so I didn’t get wet. He had the right balance of information and care for his audience. He is an asset that your organisation.
We saw the best of Baku under the very capable direction of our tour guide. Our guide knew the history and location of everything, and he was amazingly attentive and helpful. In addition, we had an authentic lunch in a gem of a restaurant, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, I highly recommend this tour as a great way to see the sights and fill a memorable day in this wonderful city.
Riad was an excellent tour guide and we enjoyed our time with him. He answered all our questions, gave great recommendations, and was able to navigate us around the city even with all the closures due to the race. We recommend this tour, especially with Riad.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and learned a great deal about the city and its history. Riad, our guide, was very professional and kind, and he always made sure we were enjoying the tour. I was fortunate to get a solo tour with Riad. He was really nice to spend half a day with. He knew all the history of his country, had excellent English and really knew all I wanted to know about Baku, Azerbaijan and history. The tour was just the right length of time and meant was done by late lunch. Riad was in touch by WhatsApp the day before and after to answer any questions. Thanks for a great tour Riad

Had a great tour exploring the beautiful city of Baku with Riad as my guide. He did a great job bringing history and current details of Azerbaijan culture to life. Baku is a nice city to walk in, and I especially enjoyed the area reached by funicular. Tour is a good length, allowing time to do other things later in the day.
