Itinerary
We begin our day with Stanley Park for a brief (15 minute) guide narrated tour along Stanley Park Drive aboard our mini-coach/van. Stanley Park is one of Vancouver's most iconic landmarks and includes a variety of the city's most popular tourist attractions including the Brockton Point Totem Poles and the 9 o'clock gun. After touring the north-west section of Stanley Park, we set off for North Vancouver along the Stanley Park Causeway on Highway 99. Your guide will point out the main highlights and provide an informative commentary about the natural and human history along the way.
We cross the Lion's Gate Bridge (arguably Vancouver's most iconic and stories piece of human infrastructure) as we make our way to North Vancouver.
The active part of our day begin with Vancouver's stairmaster, The Grouse Grind. The Grind is a challenging 2.5km/1.55mile trail that meanders through a forest of towering evergreen trees before climaxing at the top of Grouse Mountain (800m elevation gain). You can't really call yourself a Vancouverite until you've completed this iconic hike. When you reach the top, the payoff is incredible. On a clear day, the views of Vancouver are second to none but regardless of the weather, Grouse Mountain offers something for everyone. The stars of the show are the park's two rescued grizzly bears, Coola and Grinder. Lumberjack and Birds of Prey shows also thrill crowds multiple times each day in the high season (attendance depends on how quickly you complete the hike). Non-hiking option: For those that would rather enjoy even more time at the top, our guides offer discounted tickets on the Grouse Mountain Gondola Skyride.
The adventure continues when you've reach the top! Enjoy some free time to explore the numerous complimentary attractions that the mountain has to offer including the resident grizzly bears, lumberjack show, birds of prey show, zipline, cafes and restaurants, theatre and more. Forgot to pack a lunch? No worries. Grouse Mountain offers a multitude of options for you to purchase meals or snacks to keep you energized including the Grind Coffee Bar, Lupins Cafe and Altitudes Bistro.
Download Skyride ticket (i.e. hike to top and take gondola down) included with tour. The skyride takes you high above towering Douglas firs, breathtaking views of the city of Vancouver, sparkling Pacific Ocean, Gulf Islands, and snowy peaks unfold as you journey up the mountainside. North America's largest aerial tramway system is your gateway to the majestic nature of The Peak of Vancouver, and an experience in itself.
The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge towers about 50 metres (167 feet) above the crystal clear pools of Lynn Creek and is situated amongst a 616-acre temperate rainforest. On a hot summers day, you have the option to take a short walk from the suspension bridge to the enjoy the cooling waters of Twin Falls.
Twin Falls in North Vancouver is a captivating natural attraction tucked away in the scenic Lynn Canyon Park. These majestic waterfalls cascade gracefully amidst the lush greenery, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere. Visitors are invited to explore the surrounding forest trails, cross the iconic suspension bridge, and marvel at the beauty of Twin Falls as they bask in the tranquility of this idyllic setting.

Aramesh is a wonderful guide who is very customer centric. He spent all of his time ensuring we were enjoying our tour, whether that involved him collecting us, dropping us off when there were no car parks, or telling us facts about the area we were in or places we visited. He celebrated our hike before, during and after and made the whole time really pleasant. Thank you Aramesh for a great tour, keep up the good work!
Aramesh, our guide did an amazing job all day. He was informative, helpful and flexible with our itinerary. There were only two of us and many tours would cancel but these guys turned it into a private special experience for just myself and my travelling companion - the time was our own and it was an adventure. Thanks so much Way Out West and Aramesh!!
Fantastic day trip, the Grouse Grind all 2.5km and 800m elevation of it - was brutal, but very rewarding reaching the top where the views were fantastic. Armesh our guide was lovely, very knowledgeable, engaging and a pleasure to spend the day with. Great day trip all round and you’ll certainly get your daily steps in ;-)
Thank you Keith!
David is an excellent guide. It was an unforgettable hiking up the Grouse Mountain.A must hiking tour for those who loves nature and challenges.
Thank you Liza! We are glad you share our passion about nature.
This hike is extremely strenuous! More than we knew. My Fitbit logged climbing 550 floors!!!! Please let tourist know what this hike was like. Guide Aramesh was fantastic he stayed with whoever was at end of group ( which was us after some dropped out) He was so encouraging and very informative on the drive.
Thank you Loretta. I am glad you pushed through and got rewarded with great views and the feeling of achievement.
What can I say about this experience? For one, I highly recommend it! I bought this tour to challenge myself with the Grouse Grind, but I was also nervous about how well I would accept the challenge. I had no need to worry because with Aramesh as my guide, I was set! He was so attentive, encouraging and patient with me the whole way up. I felt so amazing coming out at the top. That was the best feeling! And throughout the entire day’s worth of activities, he found a way to share interesting tidbits about the area, whether it was discovering more about the local indigenous communities to the beautiful reserve pools or the Vancouver culture. I learned more that day than I ever had on any tour I’ve been on. Please visit Aramesh and the team for this safe and comfortable tour that is challenging and exciting all in one!
Thank you Reena for your kind works. We are glad you had a great time. I am very happy to have Aramesh on board.
Ben was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend booking a tour with him . He is very knowledgeable and provided a lot of interesting information. Ben was very accomodating and just let you go at your own pace. I was lucky enough to have a one on one tour due to others cancelling. Even though it was raining the day I did my hike, I had the most amazing time and enjoyed every minute. Bonus points he even lent me his jacket because I was not prepared for the wet weather.
This hike requires much strength and fitness because the trail is all the way uphill climbing nearly only stairs and rocks. Once reached the top, the scenery is very good. We have an excellent guide Branden who gave me much support enabling me to accomplish the hike. He also gave a lot of interesting information on other places we visited.
Loved the tour! Great way to knock off a few attractions at a reasonable pace while being shuttled around. David and Hamesh were knowledgeable guides.
Aramesh was the BEST GUIDE EVER! Extremely friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. The hike was difficult for me, so I was alot slower, but Aramesh was so patient and didn't make me feel bad. We also saw 2 famous hockey players and a movie star, Owen Wilson, on the hike as well! I highly recommend trying out this tour!
