Unforgettable Journey from Tbilisi to Haghpat & Sanahin Travel from Tbilisi to northern Armenia on a breathtaking cross-border journey that blends history, culture, and dramatic mountain landscapes. This full-day experience takes you to two of Armenia’s greatest treasures — Haghpat and Sanahin Monasteries, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Leaving Tbilisi, the road winds through lush valleys, deep gorges, and scenic mountain passes, offering stunning photo opportunities along the way. After crossing the Georgia–Armenia border, you’ll feel the shift in culture, architecture, and atmosphere. Haghpat Monastery (10th century) impresses with its powerful spiritual presence, ancient khachkars (cross-stones), and panoramic views over the Debed Canyon. A short drive away, Sanahin Monastery reveals a different but equally fascinating story — once a major medieval center of learning, science, and manuscript writing. Throughout the trip, you’ll enjoy: Rich medieval Armenian history Peaceful monastery courtyards surrounded by nature Authentic local vibes and warm hospitality Plenty of time for photos, exploration, and quiet reflection This experience is perfect for history lovers, culture seekers, photographers, and travelers who want to go beyond the usual routes. A meaningful and memorable journey connecting two countries and centuries of heritage in one day.

This guided tour to Hagpat, Sanahin and Akhtala was a fantastic way to explore Armenia! Our guide was absolutely wonderful—super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of each spot, and went out of their way to assist us with everything we needed. The itinerary was well-organized with great pacing, and I’m very pleased with the entire tour experience.
Thank you for traveling with us and being satisfied. Also, a big thank you to our guides Paata and Giorgi for organizing a great tour. Sincerely, Zurab...
We will not recommend this trip. We just did not get lucky. The vehicle was old. We never got offered any lunch. They advertise it: "We will also get to know traditional Armenian cuisine, where we will be hosted by a traditional Armenian family"
Thank you very much for appreciating us, I'm sorry that this happened, there was confusion in the tour.
