Activities or visit Friendship Monument Georgia-Russia (optional) The Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument is a monument built in 1983 to celebrate the bicentennial of the Treaty of Georgievsk and the ongoing friendship between Soviet Georgia and Soviet Russia. Located on the Georgian Military Highway between the ski resort town of Gudauri and the Jvari pass, the monument is a large round stone and concrete structure overlooking the Devil's Valley in the Caucasus Mountains. Gudauri ski resort, is located on the south-facing plateau of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia. The resort is situated in the Stepantsminda District, at an elevation of 2,200 meters, above sea level with a skiing area enjoying maximum exposure to the sun. Gudauri is located in the heart of the Caucasus Mountains. The resort takes on a whole new life as a fabulous sightseeing destination with fresh air, superior areas for horse-riding, mountain biking, hiking, paragliding, etc.
Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) is known for its scenic location in the Greater Caucasus Mountains, and is a center for trekkers and mountain climbing. Local attractions include Mount Kazbegi itself and the alpine meadows and forests of the surrounding Kazbegi Nature Reserve and Gergeti Trinity Church Outside of town. Therefore in Kazbegi village, we rent a special car (5-7$ per person) to take us to the top of the mountain to visit Gergeti Trinity Church.
Gergeti Trinity Church is a popular name for Holy Trinity Church near the village of Gergeti. The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri and under Mount Kazbegi at an elevation of 2170 meters. The Gergeti Trinity Church was built in the 14th century and is the only cross-cupola church in Khevi province. In times of danger, precious relics from Mtskheta, including Saint Nino's Cross were brought here for safekeeping. During the Soviet era, all religious services were prohibited, but the church remained a popular tourist destination. The church is now an active establishment of the Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church. From the church, you will get an epic panoramic view of the whole valley. The church due to its isolation in the steep mountainous area full of nature, the church remains the most iconic tourist attraction in Georgia. We will be impressed with the view of Mount Kazbegi, which is 5047 m high.
After finishing the experience we recommend staying in Kazbegi. We can leave you at Rooms hotel Kazbegi. We arrive at Rooms hotel around 5:00PM. Also you can return to Tbilisi on the same day.
We drop you off at Rose revolution square before 10PM. Hope your day was perfect!

The trip to Stepantsminda was organized very professionally. Mount Kazbek is a must-see; we even stayed an extra day to explore the surrounding area. The next day, we were picked up at the agreed time and location for the return trip to Tbilisi. Our guide, George, was very friendly and professional, and he made sure to give his attention to every participant on the tour. We highly recommend it.
Excellent day trip! The tour guide was amazing—friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience enjoyable. The itinerary covered interesting areas and was well organized. Highly recommended!
Amazing team - pleasure to meet Kaxa ( driver) and Nic ( guide). Genuinely nice team, compassionate and safe. They did a remarkable job. Recommend them anytime.
It was a fun experience. We visited several sites and our guide was quite informative about each. Giorgi was helpful and ensured to engaged with each member of the tour. He was also very timely and well mannered and approachable. The driver was cautious but purposeful with his driving. It was a safe and comfortable drive despite the length of the trip. The cost of the trip was cover in my package since my company RoamAlot did the booking. I appreciate the transparency in the additional costs and Giorgi made sure to give us the option to partake or not. The atmosphere of the bus ride was warm and friendly with pockets of people conversing. Giorgi also engaged with everyone during the ride. This tour is good for both groups and solo travellers as along the several stops there is the opportunity to meet different people. The weather did affect some of the stops but regardless it was an enjoyable experience. The restaurant that Giorgi had us bist was superb. The staff was pleasant. They even offered courtesy drinks.
100% recommend booking this trip—especially if you’re travelling solo. Our guide, George, was fantastic. He made a real effort to introduce everyone at the start, which instantly created a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Almost everyone in the group was travelling solo, so it was great to meet new people, share experiences, and swap tips on places to visit, eat, and explore. George was incredibly knowledgeable and kept things engaging throughout. There were plenty of well-timed stops along the way, so the journey never felt long or tiring. He was also more than happy to answer any questions, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The only thing I’d say is to keep an eye on the weather. We were a bit unlucky, and some of the views were hidden by fog—something the guides obviously can’t control. It didn’t take away from the experience, but you might miss a few of the best views if conditions aren’t clear. Other than that, this is definitely a must-do trip if you have a free day in Tbilisi.
Nice guide (George). Stops were okay, although not great for me, but that’s just because I’m vegan and we stopped for honey tasting…!
George rocks and is very sweet and considerate. we went honey tasting and he stopped frequently enough for bathroom / food breaks but not so often that we took forever! his english is great too
Very well spent day. Absolutely worth the money, there's no cheaper way to see this much for this little money.
love the places george took us too, he was friendly, kind and funny. Also he gave me really good information about georgian culture history etc. I would recommend to book with him hes the best.
Wonderful tour, George was awesome and very accommodating and informative. Highly recommended
