Don't miss the serene Miaara Jewish cemetery, a testament to the area's rich history. Just around the corner, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of the Mellah Market, bustling with fresh meat and produce, and the captivating Bab Mellah Spice Souk. Explore the Bahia Palace, a stunning gem in Marrakech symbolizing "brilliance" in Arabic. Built between 1866 and 1867 by Si Moussa, this beautifully preserved landmark features 150 rooms, including an enchanting harem section that opens to the luminous Court of Honour. Once home to the Resident General during the French Protectorate, the Bahia Palace is now a historical museum welcoming visitors daily. Originally designed for Si Moussa, it later became the residence of his son, Bou Ahmed, who ruled from 1894 until he died in 1900. With an entrance fee of just 100 dirhams, the Bahia Palace offers a unique opportunity to explore Moroccan history and architecture. Don’t miss this captivating experience!
Constructed in the late 16th century by the Saadian Sultan Ahmed al-Mansur to commemorate his triumph over Portugal in a legendary battle, the El Badi Palace in Marrakesh stands as an extraordinary testament to architectural grandeur. Taking an astonishing 25 years and a dedicated workforce to complete, this 360-room marvel is celebrated globally for its opulent gold, vibrant turquoise, and exquisite crystal decorations. Its stunning gardens further enhance its allure, making it an essential symbol of the Saadian dynasty's architectural legacy in Morocco. For just 70 dirhams, you can experience this magnificent monument firsthand. Don't miss the chance to explore its rich history and breathtaking beauty!
One of the oldest markets in the Marrakech medina, Souk Laghzal is a symbol of the hardworking women who once sewed traditional clothes and crafted local Moroccan hats. The smaller Rahba Lakdima market has now become a popular attraction for spices and herbs, as well as being the main market for local carpets. Entrance is free, as it is a public market.
The Jemaa el-Fna Square stands as a vibrant cornerstone of Marrakesh culture, proudly symbolizing the city since its establishment in the eleventh century. It offers a remarkable display of Moroccan heritage, where traditions come to life through captivating music, spiritual rituals, and artistic performances. This unique atmosphere invites visitors to immerse themselves in a rich cultural experience unlike any other.
The Saadian Tombs in Marrakech are a remarkable reflection of the city’s rich history and the legacy of the Saadian dynasty. Built during Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur's reign (1578-1603), these tombs were forgotten until their rediscovery in 1917. Now restored, they showcase exquisite decorative artistry and house the remains of sixty Saadians, including Sultan Al-Mansour. The impressive room of twelve columns features his tomb, adorned with a carved cedar dome and intricate stucco designs, while the graves are crafted from Italian Carrara marble. Visiting this historical site costs just 70 dirhams (dh) and offers an enriching experience.

Had a fantastic day walking Marrakech with Maaffar. It was a small group (two families) so it felt personal and attentive. He was adaptive and kept checking in with us to confirm our continued interest and comfort, and kept us engaged and entertained through his high levels of knowledge about Moroccan history and culture. I could not recommend this any more highly.

Discover authentic Marrakech! Thanks for the fantastic tour and the introduction to Moroccan culture:
Maffar was such a great guide and full of recommendations for things to do and eat in Marrakech - he was even so generous as to drop me off at my hotel after the tour had finished late at night to save me having to get a taxi and the expense of it, as it was a little way out of the medina. Maffar is full of interesting information of Marrakech and morroco and it seems like everyone knows him in the authentic parts and true Marrakech communities. Highly recommend his tours - and particularly the food tour in the evening!
There were only two of us with our guide Mohamed. Therefore, the tour did not go as described. That wasn't a problem. We could coordinate all sightseeing points with him and he could explain a lot. Highly recommended!
Maaffar is an excellent guide. He is very open and friendly. He is very committed to his work. Together with my family, we spent several hours walking with Maaffar around the Medina in Marrakech. It was a valuable time, we learned a lot about history and got to know many details. I highly recommend the services of Maaffar Travel Agency.
This city tour was the highlight of our Moroccan vacation! We had an excellent guide who was not just very knowledgeable but also very friendly and passionate about the history and culture of Marrakech. We saw the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and the crowded souks as we learned about the rich cultural heritage of the city in a very enjoyable and interactive way. The tour's pace was just right to allow us to view each location without hastiness. The guide also provided wonderful local information and even assisted in directing us through the crowded medina, which made the experience so much more stress-free and enjoyable. Whether you're visiting Marrakech for the first time or would like to discover more off-the-beaten-path gems, this tour is a must. It is highly recommended for anyone desiring to feel the genuine soul of the city!
