The tower was built in the 14th century and was an integral part of the fortress wall and the defensive fortifications in Baku. The towers were built to make the defense system easier. On August 2, 2001, the building was declared a "national architectural monument" by the Cabinet of Azerbaijan.

The Maiden Tower, or Giz Galasi as locals call it, is located in the heart of the Old City and is Baku’s most recognized landmark. Built in the 12th century, the tower is known as Giz Galasi, which translates to “Virgin Tower“, so named because of its impenetrability.Entry admission (9$) optional

Muhammad Mosque ,UNESCO World Heritage Site, in Baku (Siniggala Mosque) – was built in the XI century in Icheri Sheher, Baku. The mosque is also known as Siniggala, for the name of its minaret – Siniggala (“damaged tower”).It is the first building in Azerbaijan, which is related to Islam and dated for its architectural ligature.

Juma mosque (Friday Mosque) was built in the 16th century, approximately 25 m height, balcony with differently ornamented parapet panels, decoration with stalactites, among them inscription in "Kufi" writing ornaments. The most ancient component of the mosque today is its minaret, the construction of which historians date to the first half of the 15th century.

Shirvanshahs' Palace, which belonged to the rulers of Shirvanshahs’ State in VI-XVI centuries, the masterpiece of XV century’s architecture is the only palace, embracing glory of medieval culture, science, art and all other moral beauties.Palace of Shirvanshahs is popularly termed by UNESCO as ‘one of the pearls’ of Azerbaijan architecture. The Shirvanshahs' Palace complex comprises 52-room Dwelling house, Divankhana, Seyid Yahya Bakuvi Tomb, ruins of Key Gubad Mosque, the Eastern Portal, the Palace Mosque, Shirvanshahs’ family tomb and the Palace bath.Entry admission (9$)

Bukhara Caravanserai in Baku, located in Icheri Sheher dates back to the 15th century. Bukhara Caravanserai was primarily used by traders from Central Asia and India. It is speculated that the predominant traders among its continuous stream of visitors were merchants from Bukhara in modern-day Uzbekistan, thus explaining its name.

Books in the palm of your hand- in Baku there’s an unusual museum whose exhibits fit easily into the palm of your hand. Housed in an elegant building not far from the Shirvanshahs’ Palace in the Old City of Baku, the Museum of Miniature Books stores around 8,000 tiny printed publications from 76 different countries. Here you’ll see beautifully designed books of the most different genres and themes that are as small as a matchbox or postage stamp. Moreover,the collection contains the world’s smallest book, measuring 2x2mm, whose text and illustrations can only be seen with the help of a magnifying glass! The museum, which entered the Guinness Book of Records as the largest collection of miniature books in the world, has long been a popular place among tourists and the only museum of miniature books in the world opened its doors on April 2, 2002.It’s open every day except Mondays and Thursdays from 11am to 5pm. and entrance is free!
