Greenwich Village Walking and Food Tasting Tour

Description
Beer and wine available for purchase at two of our stops. Beyond the food stops, you will explore the most iconic streets and hidden corners of Greenwich Village on this guided walking tour through one of New York City’s most historic neighborhoods. The route includes stops at Father Demo’s Square, Manetta Lane, Manetta Tavern, Cafe Wha, McDougle Street, and NYU, before opening up into Washington Square Park and the famous Arch. You’ll also see the Hangman’s Elm, Washington Square Hotel, the Friends building, Grove Court, the narrowest house in New York, the oldest wooden house in the Village, Cherry Lane Theatre, and Cornelia Street, once home to Taylor Swift, all while uncovering the stories that give the Village its unmistakable character.

Itinerary
Meeting point and ending point. We finish up at this award-winning cupcake place. It’s too-cool-for-school with desks, retro lunch boxes and even swings. Oh and cupcakes to die for.
The best falafel you’ll ever have in Manhattan or perhaps anywhere. It’s no surprise they’ve been around since 1971 - the longest Middle Eastern spot in all of New York.
Since opening in 2016 in the West Village, Taco Mahal has built a cult following for its bold fusion of Indian and Mexican flavors. Founded by Danikkah Josan, the concept blends her Indian roots and Latina heritage into something totally unique. This place is the real deal with tacos served on fresh naan or roti, packed with rich curries, vibrant spices, and flavor you won’t find anywhere else in NYC.
Pommes Frites has the best fries in the city or probably anywhere. Authentic Belgian fries that are double cooked and topped with extraordinary sauces - choose from over 30! Also - beer on tap and wine selection are available for purchase and YES we will be there long enough to finish it.
We will try the world famous and food network favorite nonna Maria pizza. Also, beer and wine available for purchase
Washington Square Park is legendary. You’ve seen it in a ton of films, it’s the unofficial campus of NYU students and you’ll see some of the coolest people in the city here. Feed pigeons. Hear musicians and watch street performers. You never know what to expect. Oh except for the mighty arch which is, of course, renowned.
No, there isn’t really a Central Perk and yes, they filmed Friends in Los Angeles ...but for you 'Friends' fans, you can check out the outside of their apartment. They shot the facade footage here. Clap clap clap clap.
The Stonewall Inn is such a huge historical site - literally and figuratively. We pass by the prideful institution as well as its new statue which was installed to commemorate it’s 50th anniversary.
Faicco's has so many items that will make your mouth water. We sample their arancini (rice ball) and sopressata (salami) and I promise you, these bite sized delights pack a culinary punch that last long after the tour.

Good but very basic food. Restaurants visited came with a history and existed for a number of years. Restaurants that we wont visited otherwise
I can not give enough good words about David. I felt like we were eating with a friend. A rain delay slowed us down in a restaurant, but we just ordered another piece of pizza. Everything we tried was simply amazing. Thank you, David!!
David is an amazing host/tour guide! 10/10 recommend!! Amazing stops along the way, it poured down during our tour but we still had an amazing time!
David was an amazing tour guide & the food was phenomenal!
Thank you very much for joining us!
Loved David!!! Amazing tour. Such good food, and great company. Thanks for an amazing experience/memories!!!
Thank you kindly!
David did a phenomenal job with our tour last Sunday! Was very informative and made sure that everyone was taken care of and had a good time. He even pointed out a few new facts that some of our native New Yorkers had never known before. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone as it's a lot of fun and worth every penny for a 3 hour tour.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Went on the Greenwich food tour with David and he was great. Very funny guy and had tons of information about NY and Greenwich village.
Thank you!
Amanda was great. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable
Thank you!
We did the Greenwich Village food tour with our guide David! He kept us entertained and laughing the whole tour. His knowledge of the area and local restaurants highlighted what makes Greenwhich Village unique. We enjoyed pizza, falafels, french fries, Indian tacos, and cupcakes from locale restaurants with deep roots in the area. Its a good thing this is a walking tour because its crazy how much food we ate! In between bites we walked historical neighborhoods, Washington Square Park, and saw the Friends apartment building. This isn't an ordinary food tour its a 3 hour magical mystery tour for your taste buds with a dash of history and a big slice of NYC humor! 100% recommend!
Wow! What a fabulous review! Thank you so much.
Our guide, Amanda, was great. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Besides the great variety of food (the arancini balls from Faccio’s were our favorite), she gave us a great tour of Greenwich Village. We saw sites as varied as the exterior building used in the sitcom Friends to the place where Bob Dylan lived when he first came to New York to brownstones where Aaron Burr and Thomas Paine once lived.
Thank you very much!
