Greek Cooking Class in Athens Including Rooftop Dinner with Acropolis View

Description
Our cooking class will make the authentic Greek Moussaka dish and Spanakopita pie by opening your phyllo pastry (Spinach pie). We will make two classic traditional pies: Spinach pie and Milk pie. In addition to making homemade pies, we will prepare Greek island-inspired salad with cherry tomatoes aromatized with aged local vinegar and Greek yogurt tzatziki sauce. Our kitchen is a few steps from Monastiraki square in the funky neighborhood of Psirri. I'll wait for you there, on the rooftop terrace with Acropolis views. We'll start preparations and chat to break the ice and talk about Greek and Mediterranean cuisine; then, I'll show you the ingredients we'll need. Then the cooking class can begin! When we are finished, we will cook, eat, and savor our food together with amazing views of the Acropolis monuments and Parthenon temple lit at night and the vivid center of Athens overlooking the dome of Aghios Dimitrios church. We don't have a gluten-free option. Vegetarians are welcome!

It was a great class and the food was delicious but I prefer having my own work space and cooking everything individually. In this class you make nearly everything together and so for one dish you might get to stir the pot if your chosen but for the most part you are just watching. I am not a big fan of these kind of cooking classes. But for what it was , it was great and I enjoyed it. Great teacher, great food and great atmosphere. If you don’t care about getting super hands on with the cooking then you will enjoy it. It was a nice way to spend the evening.
Spyros was absolutely wonderful! He was super charismatic and enjoyable to learn from and be around. We had a full class, and everyone got to participate and create a 5-course meal that came out perfectly. We got recipes to take home and have already used them multiple times. Anyone from a well-behaved preteen to a senior citizen can learn from and enjoy this experience of authentic Greek cuisine.
This cooking class was fun and interactive. My family of four enjoyed making some authentic Greek food and enjoyed eating it even more. I highly recommend this class to anyone traveling to Athens.
Everything about this experience was exceptional!! Spyros was our instructor and got everyone involved and made it fun and interesting! The food was fabulous! I highly recommend!!
Our family of 5 from New York enjoyed this, kids ages 9-14. The host chef was a fun guy. He did a lot of the prep so we could focus on the fun cooking parts (for example we weren’t peeling potatoes or kneading dough). We made a wide variety of food of traditional Greek dishes for a big dinner which we ate at the end. The plates, pots etc are numbered to keep track of your dish to eat once its meal time and comes back from the oven. This was great for kids but probably not younger than 7 because of the cutting. And I’m sure adults without kids could enjoy it too. For some reason I thought the location would be nicer- but it was perfectly fine and had a big open space to cook on a rooftop with lots of windows. The food was delicious, the time flew, we had some great memories, and we got the recipes at the end to try again back home. Not super relevant… but the elevator kind of freaked me out- it was a very tiny space so I took the stairs 5 floors up.
Our instructor was delightful and informative. We made five dishes. Everyone participated in the making of the dishes. The food was delicious . While preparing he educated us on ingredients from the area and history of the food being made.
Wow! Just wow! Superb experience with a professional chef, named Stamatis, who is generous with additional information and the history of each dish and their ingredients... everything was ready for the preparation of all these typically Greek recipes! My daughter and I had a blast! The other participants from different countries also shared beautiful stories with us! The meal on the rooftop terrace was incredible... with torrential rain, but everything is covered and we were well sheltered! The chef eats with us and the stories continue throughout the meal... really, do not hesitate to go, you will not regret it!!!
It’s a very fun experience with my teenage daughters very highly recommend
It is by far the most fun and interactive part of our trip. You walk away learning something, eating something, and in our case getting to meet some really great people. Our instructor had such great charisma and knowledge. Easiest 5/5 ever.
Amazing experience! The chef is fantastic and an excellent teacher. A must go!
