Once you are in the car and we have not adopted the 2-in-1 scheme, your dedicated professional guide will give you his full attention. He will provide an appropriate introduction to set the scene for the best performance to come, which will only be interrupted occasionally by scenes of interest along the way, which he will contextualise for you. Early in the morning, move on to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) Complex, the largest museum in the world dedicated to one civilisation. It is a great place to start your day, surrounded by artefacts and objects that reflect the grandeur this nation once enjoyed. You will enjoy seeing the grand open court, the museum's main entrance area, which features the world's only hanging obelisk belonging to King Ramses II. Explore the exterior gardens surrounding the museum. Take in the scenic views and appreciate the building's architectural beauty.
Step into the Grand Hall of the museum. Take in the grandeur of the hall and admire the informative displays and exhibits, which provide an overview of the museum's history and significance. Gaze at the magnificent colossal statue of Ramses II, carved from a single piece of red granite, which stands to greet visitors. Take part in any interactive activities or presentations in the Grand Hall to deepen your understanding of Egypt's rich cultural heritage. Follow the knowledgeable guide who will provide insights into the museum's layout and design. Moving on to the Grand Staircase, you will walk through large statues and other objects related to kingship, temples and gods. You will be impressed by their scale and magnificence, and your journey will end with a panoramic view of the Giza Pyramids. The guide won't rush you at all! We understand how long you have been waiting to visit this part of the world!
The main galleries of the GEM are amazing, featuring 18 halls. Here, you will find a dazzling collection of over 8,000 ancient artefacts, newly showcased. Each artefact tells part of the intricate story of Egypt's rich history. This is an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in the captivating tales of the past brought to life through these remarkable exhibits. You will be captivated by the magnificent statues of ancient Egyptian kings standing proudly. As you wander through these treasures, you will gain insight into the lives of people from centuries ago. Discover the tools that ancient Egyptians used for various purposes, such as applying makeup, farming, fishing, hunting and warfare. Marvel at the everyday items that filled their homes, including furniture and papyrus, as well as the writing tools and ink that recorded their stories. This journey offers an unforgettable glimpse into the daily lives and achievements of ancient civilisations.
Tutankhamen Galleries Step inside the Tutankhamen Galleries and transcend the boundaries of his fabled tomb. Immerse yourself in the extraordinary story of the Golden Pharaoh, who came to power around 1336 BC and ruled until 1327 BC. This once-in-a-lifetime exhibition sees the entire Tutankhamen collection displayed together under one roof for the first time in history. Discover over 5,000 invaluable artefacts that were placed beside the young king to guide him on his eternal journey. Among these magnificent treasures are objects of royal splendour, used in sacred rituals and state ceremonies, as well as deeply personal belongings, including jewellery, fine garments, exquisite furniture, provisions, chariots and weapons. Each item reveals an intimate portrait of Tutankhamen's life, reign and afterlife.
King Khufu’s Solar Boat Museum Discover the awe-inspiring legacy of the Solar Boat Museum, home to two magnificent royal vessels that were unearthed beside the Great Pyramid in 1954. One of these ancient masterpieces has been fully restored, while the second is undergoing meticulous conservation and reassembly — offering visitors a rare opportunity to witness archaeology in action. The museum reveals the pivotal role of the boats in ancient Egyptian religion, navigation and royal funerary traditions. It illustrates how they were crafted to carry the pharaoh’s soul across the Nile into eternity. Through immersive displays, visitors can explore the advanced shipbuilding techniques used to construct the boats, their symbolic connection to the sun god Ra, and their enduring significance in ancient trade, culture and engineering.
Then, if you wish, you can move on to the delicious part of the tour and sample some authentic traditional Egyptian cuisine. You can choose to eat kushari, a special combination of rice, noodles, chickpeas, lentils, fried onions and tomato sauce. Alternatively, you can try shawarma, which consists of spit-roasted layers of lamb, beef or other meat that are sliced and often served in or with pita bread. Or you can try falafel sandwiches, which consist of deep-fried balls or patties made from chickpeas or fava beans, or fava bean and baba ganoush sandwiches, which are made of blended eggplant, tahini, garlic, lemon juice and salt. At the end of your tour, we will drive you back to your hotel.

We just returned from the Grand Egyptian Museum, King Tut, Khufu Boat, and Egyptian Lunch tour with Aly. It provided a good introduction to this impressive facility, and the guide used the travel time to the museum to present helpful background information and perspective. He also provided interesting insights about selected exhibits in the museum. We chose this tour in the hopes the advertised 4-to-5-hour duration would provide more time at the museum than others on offer but we frequently felt rushed, especially during the King Tut exhibit portion. Lunch was advertised as an opportunity to try one of three Egyptian dishes but in reality was a non-descript buffet, and the promised bottle of water in the car never materialized. While these may seem like minor inconveniences, they were missed opportunities to make a good experience a very good one.
Thank you for taking the time to write this good review. As for the food, you have told the guide that you have had a walking food tour the day prior to the tour, in which you have tried the same type of food we serve in our tour. We didn't dare, for hygienic reasons, to take responsibility to let you try street food. It can be done on your own, as we give priority to your safety. We took you to a touristic standard restaurant with open buffet, in which we covered the meals and the beverages you took, which supposed to be on your side!! As for the tour itself, as you've mentioned, you have enjoyed the informative introduction and the tour you had. Being shorter than what you needed is a personal taste and circumstances, such as age and physical ability of your own . We have a standard time length as clearly stated in the product description. You should book a full day tour to the GEM. You undoubtedly didn't know how vast and what to expect. Anyway, we were glad to have you and hope that you will be next time with us for more time so that you can be more satisfied and you hold responsibility for your own food! Wish you a great vacation in Egypt!

As a family, had the most amazing and informative tours with Aly Elsheemy. His business google title "Egypt in Tours". If you’re wondering whether you should get a tour guide to remote locations, such as Memphis, Saqqar, Dahshur; the answer is absolutely yes! Egypt is not the kind of place to try and manage sightseeing on your own, especially with kids and even if you typically do so in other countries! Egypt is not the case! Contrary to the ongoing narrative, Egypt is literally very safe. There is no impact to Egypt due to the ongoing war between US and Iran. It's worth it to see Saqqara and Dahshour. They are totally different and much more beautiful and peaceful than Giza-- there were barely any people there!! Now coming to Egypt in Tours, Aly and driver Mohammed, they are phenomenal people! We, like many people, grew up fascinated by Ancient Egypt and experiencing it alongside Aly made that fascination feel real in a way I never expected. His passion is contagious and he has a unique ability to make every site feel meaningful and memorable! Unlike our previous group tours, Egypt in Tours provided a 100% different experience with a focus on pre-dynastic Egyptian history with an "off the beaten feel" than at Giza Plateau. We had the pleasure of touring with Egypt in Tours three times since 2022. Each experience with them has been exceptional and unique! Their driver Mohamed was also very friendly, reliable, and prompt. We felt safe with him driving. A professional, honest, English-speaking driver, and trustworthy man! We noted that other tourists missed out on seeing some beautiful hidden areas we got to see thanks to our guide's detailed knowledge of the hidden sites. That added to the 'specialness' and the feeling of adventure! Getting into the Serapium of Saqqara and knowing the meanings behind hieroglyphics inscribed there thanks to Aly, was one of the most amazing things I’ve been blessed to witness. He is willing to enter each tomb with us due to his great passion. Our kids loved learning from him, and he even brought some Egyptian books and gifts for them! His knowledge of ancient Egypt is truly impressive—he doesn’t just point things out, he brings history to life. He can read hieroglyphics and explain the full stories behind them, which adds a completely different depth to the experience. It’s clear he has studied extensively and genuinely knows his craft. What truly sets Aly apart, though, is his compassion—especially for animals. Throughout our tours, he always made time to care for stray animals, bringing food, showing kindness, and even supporting humane efforts to manage stray populations. It’s rare to see someone so dedicated not only to his tiring work, but also to making a positive impact in the places he operates. He is knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely cares—about both his guests and the world around her. I hope more people get the chance to experience Egypt through his eyes! DO NOT hesitate to avail yourselves of his knowledge and talents! 💯 RECOMMENDED!

We had used Egypt in Tours for a previous tour and as the tour guide was really good, we requested a driver and car for an afternoon out in Cairo to visit Coptic Cairo churchs and the Citadel. We had 2 cars as we were a family of 6 and the contact was the driver Ahmed. Cars arrived at the hotel at the agreed time and we made our way to the Citadel. Mervat and the other driver waited in the car park and we took our time exploring. After this we were taken to Cave Church. Here, there was an option to take a guide, we wanted to look around ourselves so Ahmed accompanied instead. His English was not clear so he used his phone for translation and answeted our questions. This was definately going above and beyond for us and we were very thankful. It was a hot afternoon, but at no time did we feel rushed. We had a lovely afternoon and would recommend the tour compamy 'Egypt in Tours'. We have used them 3 times on our week's stay and each time their employees were so great and helpful! Thank you all so much !

It was truly amazing experience with this tour, Mohamed was such a wonderful guide and he always helped us with anything we needed and gave us a lot of good tips for next exploration of Cairo as well. Truly recommend.

Thanks to our guude, Aly Elsheemy, the tour was really great and a lot of fun. His way of speaking was clear and easy to follow, so we understood everything he said in English without any problems. At the same time, the tour was very informative, and Aly made it even better with his sense of humor, which kept everything relaxed and enjoyable. What I especially liked was that we had enough time at every sightseeing spot to explore things at our own pace! It often feels rushed on other tours, but that was not the case here at all! What impressed us the most, according to our previius experiences, though, was that this tour was not a typical tourist scam in any way. Usually, you get taken to shops or partner places where you are expected to buy something. That did not happen here at all. In fact, Aly even gave us tips on how to avoid street vendors and what to do so they would not approach us. Aly was very attentive and friendly and even stepped in to keep them away from us. We have honestly never experienced that before. This tour was really focused on the history and the places themselves, which made it so enjoyable. We would absolutely and without hesitation highly RECOMMEND it!

We went on a tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum with Aly Elsheemy as our guide. He was very knowledgeable. The museum is beautiful and well worth seeing. Aly was friendly and personable. He spoke very good English so he was easy to understand. The only negative was that Viator advertised this as the museum and an Egyptian lunch which I thought meant we would eat at the museum which was not the case. Instead we were taken to a takeout place in a not very clean area of Cairo. We each got a sandwich and a soda. The sandwich was tasty but for the difference in price I would advise just paying for the museum and skipping the lunch part.

We had a crazy day with Aly, our fantastic guide, we explored Dahshur, Memphis and Saqqara. Aly welcomed us at the hotel and turned every stop into a journey into history. In Dahshur, he guided us through the pyramids, recounting compelling details and even taking us inside a pyramid: breathtaking. In Memphis, among ancient remains, he entertained us with curiosity and culture. Finally, in Saqqara, the stepped pyramid left us speechless. Aly was not just a guide; attentive, kind and always available, he pampered us throughout the day, closing with a typical unforgettable lunch. Aly is one of those people you will never forget: SUPER RECOMMENDED!
