Taking the train made for a relaxing a fun trip from Williams to the Grand Canyon. There was a lot of information and entertainment.
It started out well until 10 minutes out of the station. We had an observation car and the AC failed. The conductor said she would look into it. Never came back to give up date. After an hour she said to go find some seats. We went forward and ran into another conductor who said we had to go back, not her problem. Finally we were told to sit up in the observation deck until they could decide what to do. Finally found seats in another car further back. I paid for observation got to sit in regular car. Told I would have to contact someone about it . Left message no reply. There was a photographer that I got the feeling she thought I was just a complainer and tried to appease me with more photos. Of course my wife liked all the photos so that was not really a plus. I just find that the crew cannot handle people in a way that makes them feel they are important to the rail road. We were basically ignored even when I told the supervisor that my wife has a medical condition that she can’t stay in the heat. She said just wait. Not a good answer.
I would recommend this experience to everyone who would truly enjoy a train ride and a view of the Grand Canyon and very great entertainment. 😀
Great experience for our visitors from the United Kingdom. They were thoroughly amazed by the views.
You should Get the upgrade ticket . Try and get Cheryl and Will to take care of you while you are on the train.
Sherrill and Will were the best attendants ever. Laughed so hard. They were better than any comedy show at the improve. The train is the best way to experience the Grand Canyon. 100 stars each. Thank you. Lynne W, Mesa Az.
We stayed at Williams,Arizona during our road trip and decided to go to Grand Canyon it was nice to enjoy the views, entertainment and our destination,Jonny Arizona was our car assistant and did a great job providing a lot information and it was really nice get cold water after our walk truly appreciated.
We did the train ride earlier this month and absolutely loved it. My wife has wanted to do this for many years and it did not disappoint. If we do it again, I think we would spend the night and have more time to explore. We paid for the bus tour and I feel it was worth it. We got to go to 2 different locations and got back in time to explore the area around the station fully. The ride itself was fully enjoyable and relaxing. The train was beautiful. We went during the week so it wasn't too crowded. Lastly I would like to thank our car attendant, Morris. Morris made this trip special for my family and I. We are happy that our stories crossed and hope they cross one day again. You could really tell that he loves his job and loves the entire experience of the train and the canyon, and the awesomeness of it all. I was in tears (happy tears) when it was time to say goodbye. I just loved your analogy of the train ride called life. Thank you so much for the best experience Morris ❤️❤️ My family and I were blessed to meet you. I hope to share a train with you again some day.
It was a long ride but enjoyed it. The ride back we like alot better in carr D, the speaker made it much more fun with his cow jokes. He was awesome. The ride up was boring. The speaker barely talked. Was no fun in car A.
The train ride was amazing. We recommend coach. Our hostess Sheryl kept us entertained and gave us a historical picture of the area as well as the train. She’s a keeper!
