The Giraffe Centre has also become world-famous as a Nature Conservation Education Centre, educating thousands of Kenyan school children every year. Get a chance to learn through our skilled guides about the lifestyle of a Rothschild Giraffe , their behavior, how they survive as well as habitat preferences of this animals. Later you may have a chance to visit Kobe Beads factory and meet with the locals. The mothers are committed to what they are doing in making of those beads. Have a chance to buy souvenirs. Itinerary
We will begin your tour at 9:00 AM driving towards the Giraffe Centre where you will learn more about the conversation efforts to conserve an endangered species and also enjoy watching the giraffes as they roam around. After that you may have time to visit Kobe Beads Factory (OPTIONAL). A truly inspiration place with impressive handmade ceramic beads, beautiful leather purses and stunning beaded belts. Its a unique factory as it employs single parents from the neighborhood who earn a living to support their families. Later you will be driven to your hotel for drop off while you embark with memories.

Kelvin our tour guide is an absolute diamond of a man, warm, funny, kind and passionate, the very best of Africa. Our flight arrived 2hrs later than what we anticipated and we only had 20 minutes at the hotel to turn around to get out on the tour. “No problem” said Kelvin (who had been in contact with us since we touched down at the airport), Have you had a coffee and breakfast?” And that set the tone for the whole morning. He took us to a cafe enroute and while we feasted on the breakfast menu, he gave us an introduction to Kenya, Nairobi and the surrounding counties. He was totally captivating and so charming. The giraffe centre was brilliant, all the giraffes and warthog were hungry for people to feed them and Kelvin took lots of great photos on our phones so we could enjoy the experience without have to worry about those insta-poses. I wasn’t sure I wanted to go to the bead factory (I was in need of sleep) but I am so pleased we did. It was a heartwarming and empowering experience, the welcome song was fantastic and chatting to the ladies crafting the beads through every stage of manufacture was as if we were old family members. We all wanted to buy beaded products in the shop afterwards to celebrate their achievements. All in all a brilliant first day in Keyna, all made possible with Kelvin’s caring and welcoming attitude

Tour operator called me while I was outside awaiting pickup and told me the driver will be there in 30 minutes. So the driver will be 30 minutes late? 🤨 the excuse was traffic. That’s not MY problem is it ? The driver should have left earlier. I called Viator to request a refund, but instead we decided to reschedule for the next day. Tour was ok no complaints. I would not use this tour operator again because they don’t value my time. A few minutes late is understandable, 30 minutes late is unsatisfactory.
