Really fun places to visit!

The locations that we visited were pretty awesome. Would highly recommend - the little boat that we took to get close to dolphins, being able to swim with turtles and feed them, and seeing monkeys in the Jozani forest and walking amongst large mangrove trees was amazing. Admission fees were all paid for so nothing additional needed, which was very nice. At the turtle cave, there were some showers which was great (had to bring our own towels). The company contacted me via WhatsApp the day before to ask for an earlier pickup (6am) than listed. For the dolphins, they said. No problem, but the problem was that when we got to the boats everyone else had already gotten to the dolphins location - we should have left even earlier. The guide is the key reason for the review. King Mufasa (lol) was nice but did not really talk to us at all. He told us probably 5 things the entire trip and was speaking more to a French couple that he met than he did to us. That was very disappointing. One of us left our phone on the car and discovered it probably 20 minutes after we were dropped off, and we were able to get in touch with the company via WhatsApp right away and get it delivered back to us. They asked for 10k shillings which is understandable but I feel like it should be a complimentary service because that happens and the tour was for 4 of us at almost $100 USD each.

This was an awful...

This was an awful experience for us. It was a tiny boat and it was raining heavily so I asked the boat driver to just take us back. The turtles were fine but I would not recommend the jozani forest. We saw more monkeys in the car park. The guide was mainly talking about trees and walking so fast through the forest that we got lost, then the guide told us off for not keeping up when we were trying to be careful of not falling over in the forest. We got no bottled water throughout the whole day. Personally I would like my money back. Worst trip I have ever been on.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

We were supposed to go an all day excursion in Zanzibar to see dolphins, turtles and monkeys with Riser. This would have been the highlight of our trip. However the tour guide went to the wrong hotel and cancelled on us at 630am on the day of the excursion. My family was extremely disappointed as we wasted a full day during our family vacation. All Viator could do was offer us a refund of our fees. Going forward I think Viator should 1) vet the tour operators; 2) send confirmation reminders to both tour operators and clients; and 3) suggest alternative excursions / compensation packages in the event of a mistake…in order to ensure that these mistakes never spoil a family vacation again.
