Picked up from your hotel in Cairo by your private experienced Tour Guide and driver to begin your Alexandria day tour, located 220km Northwest on the Mediterranean coast. A stunning and scenic full-day tour to experience the highlights of Ancient Greco- Roman Alexandria visiting the Catacombs of Kom El-Shoukafa and the Royal Cemetery of Kom El-shoqafa, a historical archaeological site and considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages.
Pompey's Pillar, a Roman triumphal column, is one of the best-known ancient monuments still standing in Alexandria today, and it is the last of the remaining relics of the Seraphium. The Pillar was erected in honor of Emperor Diocletian. Lunch will be served at a good quality restaurant during the day
then you will continue to visit the Citadel of Qaitbey, built on the ruins of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qaitbay.
You will visit the large and famous Alexandria Library, reconstructed by building the new library in Selsela at Shatby Which is beside the conference center. The library is one of the greatest cultural and scientific centers that specialize in the affairs of, literature, civilization, sciences, and arts of the area so this attracts scholars from all over the world. Finally, you will be escorted by your guide and transported back to your hotel in Cairo

He is very well read in history and knows the geography of the places to be visited and manages the trip deftly, engaging in intelligent two way conversation. His planned pauses to lunch and savour coffee are precisely timed. This ensures that the quality experience at the historical venues are not lost. Hany is a fabulous guide, answered every question we had. Is a fount of information. Fox was a great driver too. If you have a spare day in Cairo going to Alexandria with Hany and Fox is a good use of time. It fills in the gap from Egyptian times through to the Greek era. The catacombs in particular demonstrate the transition and integration of the two cultures. A pleasant seafood food lunch is included. Excellent communication during the whole booking process. The hotel pickup worked flawlessly. Note that on Fridays the library is closed (Hany advised us of that early in the piece but we went anyway is it was our only free day). Starting early (0700) worked well also as made for a stress free day. Thoroughly recommended.

We took this tour on our first day in Egypt. Being Greek you can understand why. Hany, our guide, from minute one started sharing information about everything. His knowledge is unbelievable. I’ve been to Egypt before on business and this time on holidays with my wife and two girls (10 & 8). I wanted a truly awesome day with a very friendly and knowledgeable guide, and that exactly what we got with VIP treatment all the way! Hany was our guide and was fantastic at explaining everything and was great at keeping the girls engaged throughout the day. Nothing was too much trouble for Hany and the driver to do to make us feel safe and enjoy our time which was truly amazing from start to finish….

This is such a comfortable and interesting experience. Haitham is such a good companion to have in a long and short trip. He is so hospitable and accommodating. The 3 hour trip to Alexandria and back was so smooth. From the views of the Mediterranean Sea to the food at the Fish Market was wonderful. Haitham also made sure we were inside the dinner cruise ship in Cairo before it left. He came back and checked and good thing he did because if he didn’t we would have missed our dinner cruise trip. I must say what a responsible person Haitham is. I highly recommend him and his brother for your Egypt trip. A+++
