Itinerary
A pleasant train ride to Kutná Hora is going to take us about an hour. Our first stop in Kutná Hora is going to be the formerly biggest Cistercian abbey in Central Europe with a stunning Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady and Saint John the Baptist.
Just few steps from the Cathedral lies the Cemetery Church of All Saint with Ossuary. You’ll get to know why and how the Ossuary was created and see the amazing art pieces, made out of human bones. After the visit we'll hop on a bus which is going to take us to the city center.
After the bus ride to the city center we’ll have an hour long lunch break in a traditional Czech restaurant, after which we’ll visit the wine cellars, hidden under the former monastery of St. Ursula. Your sommelier is going to introduce you into their elaborate process of winemaking, which follows the strictest biodynamical methods. That earned the winery a DEMETER certificate, making it the only winery in Czech Republic which has it. We’ll try 8 samples of wine, paired with cheese and ham.
After the wine tasting we’ll visit the most amazing building of Kutná Hora – St. Barbara’s cathedral, which is almost like a museum of gothic style of architecture and its evolvement over the years. As this is last stop in the city, we'll then hop on a bus to take us to the train station, from which follows an hour long ride back to Prague's main train station.

There is no photography allowed in the ossuary which was disappointing. Otherwise it was a great tour!
Amazing experience! Our tour guide Michal Wes superb. He picked us up at our hotel, took us by train to Kutna Hora, and guided us through the most important and beautiful historic places in the town. Michal provided a top rate narrative about the history and significance of each place. We had a wonderful lunch and the tour concluded with a wonderful wine tasting event at a local winery. This was an excellent full-day private tour.
Michal was an amazing guide, filling the day with facts about the history of our stops. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about wine and its provenance in the Czech Republic. We would absolutely use him again for another trip.
Despite the cold rainy weather, we were able to see so much in Kutná Hora - the Bone Church was a highlight, along with the cathedrals. Lunch brought a delicious break from the sightseeing and rainy weather - wonderful Czech cuisine. Wine tasting was lovely. We were able to try varietals that we have never had before in a relaxed setting with a few unique bites to pair along with them. Our guide, Michael, shared lots of stories throughout the day about Czech history and culture. He also guided us through traveling by Metro and train. Definitely recommend this day trip!
Honza (Jack) was awesome! He was knowledgeable and engaging the entire tour! We had a fabulous experience and truly enjoyed our experience.
Absolutely brilliant day trip from Prague - it was well worth getting out of the capital and exploring Kutna Hora. It has a fascinating history in both silver mining and wine production. Our guide, Michal from Explore Prague, was incredibly knowledgeable and organised, and his tour was well paced and really interesting. We never felt rushed, and had plenty of time to see everything at each stop. Really interesting dive into some of the history of the area outside Prague. Lunch was delicious, and the wine tasting was absolutely delightful. It definitely elevated this day tour to something special.
Bone Chapel was interesting. Czech lunch cuisine was delicious. Wine tasting was great. The whole tour was very nice! Our tour guide Michal was very knowledgeable and accommodating! Thanks
Mike is brilliant fun and we had a great time learning about this charming town from him. He made the whole day so easy for us from the metro to the train to strolling through Kutná Hora. Lunch was delicious in a wonderful local restaurant with a cool garden. The wine tasting was wicked good and we loved touring the wine cellar. Mike taught us so much about Czech history and current industries. Best guide ever!
Michael was an outstanding guide and had an exceptional grasp of English and the history of Prague! I HIGHLY recommend him for any tours in Prague!
Michal was wonderful! A wealth of information, tailored to us, patient, kind, willing to answer any question, personable. I would definitely do what I could to seek Michal again for another tour.
