Our first stop on the journey is the vibrant **Berber village farmers market**, where locals gather for their weekly shopping. The market takes place on **Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays**, and **Saturday afternoons**. On days when the market isn’t running, we have the opportunity to visit a local **Berber heritage museum**, offering insights into the rich cultural history of the region. Next, we head to an **Argan oil cooperative**, where we’ll learn about **Morocco's exclusive Argan oil**. This oil is hand-produced by women in a labor-intensive process, creating a **rich oil** with remarkable benefits for the skin and a delightful flavor for cooking. The cooperative not only promotes the production of this valuable oil but also provides a vital source of **income and education** for local women, helping to empower the community.
Embark on a day trip from Marrakech to the stunning Atlas Mountains and Berber villages. Explore scenic Imlil, Asni, and Amizmiz valleys, visit 9 traditional Berber villages, and enjoy tea with a Berber family. Hike to breathtaking waterfalls and visit an Argan women’s cooperative to see the production of Morocco’s liquid gold. The tour includes transport, guide, lunch, water, and a cultural experience, starting at 9:00 AM and returning to Marrakech by 5:00 PM.
The **High Atlas Mountains**, or **‘Idraren Draren’** (Mountains of Mountains), are North Africa’s highest mountain range, offering a breathtaking blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. Spanning nearly 1000 kilometers, these rugged peaks create a barrier between the Mediterranean climate to the north and the Sahara to the south. From **Oukaimeden’s winter sports** to the fertile valleys like **Zat, Ourika**, and **Mizane**, the region offers both adventure and tranquility. Beyond the popular valleys lie hidden gems like **Zaouiat Ahansal**, **Ait Bougmez**, and **Ait Blel**, where Berber culture thrives. The **Tamazight** language and ancient traditions remain strong, offering visitors an authentic, off-the-beaten-path experience. Whether you’re trekking, discovering remote villages, or simply soaking in the stunning landscape, the High Atlas is a unique blend of nature and culture that’s truly unforgettable.

The tour guide never showed up. I waited two hours. They did not answer their phone or emails. Thankfully Viator refunded me. But it was my only day in Marrakech. So i completely missed out on the opportunity
Hello Dear Richelle . We was there, and the tour cancelled during the bad Weather I accepted your refund because of the true reason of the bad weather Is not in our controller Best regards
Samir is exceptionally good and friendly and supported us throughout this trip. I would highly recommend Samir , he has good local knowledge as he lives in the vicinity and able to communicate easily with our family.
Eye opening, breath taking and life changing! Hard to put into words what an experience this was. Our guide 'Samir' not only safely navigated us around the mountains he also took us into his mountain village home to meet his wife and children where they had prepared lunch and Moroccan tea, it was a true honour and moment I shall never forget. The mountain views are absolutely breathtaking and ofcourse so soon after the recent Marrakesh earthquake there are many damaged homes we seen which really brings home the reality of the power of nature and what the local people are coping with. I urge anyone booking this trip to tip Samir or your tour guide as it will really help them to feed their families and just a few pounds, dollars or euro's of our money is a significant help. I hope to one day return and if I do I'll return with some toys for the local children :)
I’m not sure that this your company would have picked us up from our pre arranged destination if we hadn’t emailed and phoned them just prior to our pick up time. We were out on a tour that clearly wasn’t the one we had booked and after quests were taken for our lunch at a restaurant and trek in the Atlas Mountains. Our guide for our trek was outstanding which is why I give this tour four stars. We weren’t offered the camel ride on the way back which wasn’t a problem to us as we hadn’t wanted one, but as it’s an advertised part of the tour it might have been a problem for others.
Thanks for your Feedback. Please note. The yo
Samir and Mohammed were great guides! We were a group of 18 people and they made sure everyone felt comfortable and made it to the top. They guided the slow people by staying with them and also held the group together very well. The food on the mountain was surprisingly delicious. They also had a lovely family! Overall a great experience, highly recommend!
I can only share disappointment with this booking. I booked two days earlier and in the late afternoon of the day before got a message from the tour company that due to a storm it would likely to be cancelled . They said they would confirm with me later at night and they never did . So I didn’t go to the tour, nor I booked another one so I got stuck in the city on my last day. Asked for refund to Viator who said they were not aware of the cancellation. Very strange. I am still waiting for refund, don’t know what else they need to investigate. I am very disappointed.
Hello dear ,Cousrmotrs thanks for this feedback, I already Spoke, to you one day before, so I have a resan to cancel your tour ,There was a storme in the Atlas mountains. Then you got your refund back. This feedback it doesn't make Sounds. For me ?
We had a very good day with Samir, our guide for the trek, and our driver whose name, unfortunately, I don't remember. Both of them were very friendly, helpful, and kind. We were sharing this adventure with a lovely family from Manchester and all the interaction between members of our group was pleasant and friendly. We stopped for photo opportunities on the way, and again for oil tasting at a women's cooperative, with tea, fresh local bread and the best peanut butter! The trek to the waterfall was not too difficult for two middle-aged ladies and Samir was there to help and lend a hand when needed. We had pleasant temperatures for walking and great views of the snow-capped Atlas mountains. Then a delicious lunch of home-cooked chicken tangine with tomato salad, and fresh fruit in the home of a local lady before leaving the mountainous area. Our driver took us to a desert area where we were served tea and assisted to don colorful head gear and tops. The men attending the camels helped us onto our animals and we took approximately 30 minutes to walk in a train on our camels, who appeared to be well-behaved and cared for. All in all, a memorable day with our very nice driver and guide, Samir!
We had a fantastic couple of days in the mountains. Our guide, samir was excellent. He was very informative and looked after us very well. He welcomed us into his house and his wife cooked us a lovely lunch. The walks were beautiful and interesting with lovely views, waterfalls and villages. I would recommend a trek with samir. We stayed in a great riad with the best food of our stay in Morocco. We were picked up and transported to the mountains and then onto essaouira. Excellent service, I highly recommend. We will definitely return with the rest of our family.
Thanks for your nice Feedback
Highly recommended to make any excursion with Samir!!!!!! Personally we did a 4h route through Ilmil and then ate at his house. Thank you!!!!!
Very nice experience, of the best we have done in our visit to Morocco. Best to disconnect from the Marrakech riot in the mountains. The guide Semir very friendly and close. Highly recommended.
