Itinerary
At 7:00 am, we will pick you up from your hotel and head straight to Alexandria, where we will spend the next two and a half hours travelling by highway to get to our starting point Kom El Shurafa's. Kom El Shoqafa's made up of a collection of tombs, statues, and archaeological artefacts associated with the Pharaonic funeral cult, as well as Hellenistic and early Imperial Roman influences. Because of the time period, many of the characteristics of Kom El Shoqafa's catacombs combine Roman, Greek, and Egyptian cultural points; some statues are Egyptian in style, but wear Roman clothes and hairstyles, while others share a similar style. A circular staircase descends down into the tombs tunneled into the bedrock during the Antonine emperors' reign. (2nd century AD)From the 2nd to the 4th centuries, the building was used as a burial chamber before being rediscovered in 1900.
Will be the secondary attraction. The Pompey pillar's moniker is deceptive. Gaius Pompey, a Roman general and consul, was a rival of Julius Caesar in a civil war and was assassinated by a Ptolomaic pharaoh in 48 BC as he escaped to Alexandria. This single column, which is perched on a rocky hilltop in the centre of Alexandria, has nothing to do with him. Crusaders believed his grave was marked by a 100-foot (30-meter) red Aswan granite pillar, which is how this tale got its start. The pillar is actually a triumphal monument built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the year 300 AD, but the real importance of this archaeological site lies in what was here before the pillar. The Serapeum, Alexandria's acropolis, is located there.
The third stop will be this. he In Alexandria, Egypt, on the Mediterranean Sea the coast, stands the 15th-century defensive fortress known as the Citadel of Qaitbay or the Fort of Qaitbay. In 1477 AD (882 AH), Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qa'it Bay founded it. The Citadel is located at the mouth of the Eastern Harbour on the eastern edge of Pharos Island's northern tip.
The world's largest library, which currently has 8 million Books. Visit its open court to see the statues of Ptolemy the first and Alexander the Great, which were both discovered close underwater. You will go to the President Saddat Museum and the Alexandria Museum of Impressions. Please take note that the Alexandria Library is closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and on legal holidays. You will need to buy a ticket in order to access the reading section. In the end, we will travel back to the beginning location for around 2.5 hours on the highway.

We had a very very wonderful experience with eslam. He is such a good man. He even helped us with money, we did not have Egyptian pound for local purchases. He gave all his money to us for that and also gifted fruits for us to eat. He is a very kind hearted man. We really loved our tour with him. he had good knowledge about the history and explained everything so clearly and nicely. No hurry he did and made and adjusted the plan according to our needs. Speaks politely. Good tour

Our first day exploring Egypt couldn’t have started better, all thanks to our exceptional tour guide, Eslam. He brought history to life with fascinating stories about every place we visited, blending knowledge with humor to make the experience both educational and entertaining. His warm personality and thoughtful gestures truly stood out—he even treated us to delicious local fruits and went above and beyond by arranging a picturesque seaside lunch. Eslam’s flexibility was remarkable; he accommodated all our requests and adjusted the itinerary to suit our preferences. The highlight of his exceptional service was his generosity and understanding. When we faced challenges exchanging money, he covered our expenses for food, shopping, and tips without hesitation, allowing us to enjoy the day stress-free. We reimbursed him at the end of the day, but his kindness left a lasting impression. Eslam’s dedication and hospitality made this tour unforgettable for all seven of us. Thank you, Eslam, for an incredible start to our Egyptian adventure!
Thank you for the review, and thank you for that day. I hope to see you next time
We had taken a private package .....this was one of the worst site seeing i have done ever (have visited more than 25 countries and done numerous package trips). The feedback : 1) Vehicle provided was good. Driver was also well behaved and drove well 2) The guide provided (Islam/Aslam) was the worst we have ever seen. The issues are : a) He didnt have basic sense of human interactions.......he came and sat in the vehicle and didnt even bother greeting us or introduce himself (we got to know his name only at the close of the trip !!!) b) It seemed that he was mentally not in a mood for the trip.....either he had a heavy hangover from previous night or he just didnt like doing his job and He was also not dressed professionally c) His english skills were very poor and he couldnt articulate his thoughts into words d) He gave lot of wrong information about the artefacts and tour ......we started listening to the other english guides doing the tour.......it was very clear that this guide was either not a licensed fellow or he just thought he can speak anything to a first time visitor of Egypt and get away !!!! e) He didnt explain about the key items in the catacombs. This was again due to his lack of knowledge f) He didnt inform that the library (bibliotheca) was closed on the day we went......it was one of the key items we wanted to visit We stopped his services immediately after he said he had finished the tour of catacombs. This was due to his behaviour and also his lack of knowledge. We took the vehicle and driver on our own and visited the roman amphitheater and passed thru Pompeys pillar and took guidance of wikipedia and google !!! We missed all the other points in the package trip as we were running late and also we had lost the mood of sightseeing as well due to the pathetic service. We wasted our money on such a useless service provider. I would suggest that viator screen these kind of cheats and ensure we dont waste money. The tour operator offered to make good services by giving me a free nile cruise in his boat......i didnt take this offer. I paid him for the nile cruise which was organised well. I used the operator again for a package in Luxor, where he again goofed up by sending a run down vehicle which resulted in us having back ache and wasting a day. The only reason for single star is for the vehicle and driver provided in alexandria trip.

We booked the tour for "Alexandria Private Day Tour from Cairo", and our Tour guide Mr. Eslam has given us all necessary information we need to know. He was very very supportive and helpful. He had not only helped to know more about this tour but was taking care of us in a much more professional way than we expected. Aldo, he helped to take our lots of pictures :) We were personally very happy to have this tour, and will highly recommend to use this. Also, We found a very different and positive multi culture perspective of Alexandria in Egypt than Cairo, great city to explore.

Had the very best time in Alexandria with our driver Osama and our guide Eslam!! Eslam was a joy to spend time with as a tour guide! He is the best! Showed us all of the amazing sites in Alexandria and explained little known details. We also enjoyed a wonderful lunch all together in a lovely restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Osama drove with us all day and we love him, as well as Eslam! We made two new forever friends that day!!
