Itinerary
Plitvice are known as a natural phenomenon because they keep changing through sedimentation of calcium carbonate and create special kinds of algae and moss, tufa or travertine which has been deposited and is still deposited to form the natural dams that separate the lakes. Since the process is ongoing today, just as it always has, new travertine barriers, curtains, stalactites, channels, and cascades are built as the existing ones keep changing. So it doesn’t matter if you have visited the lakes before, they probably look different now, so you can visit them again and never be bored. Besides the lakes, there are some interesting caves in which remains of prehistoric settlements have been found.

This was a great tour with our guide, Lovro. He was entertaining, full of countless jokes throughout the day. My only complaint is the number of people on this tour, which I wasn’t expecting. I get it, let’s pack them in, but it was just too many. There’s lots of shade during the 3.5 mile walk, but expect to sweat. I noticed some folks came wearing bathing suits - you cannot get in the water. Although there’s a stop at a gas station, I recommend getting snacks the night before and bringing them with you. The gas station is overly crowded. There are plenty of opportunities to use the restroom so don’t fret about that.
This park exceeded my expectations. Sanya was organized, funny, & made individual itineraries that fit with everyone’s abilities. I will recommend to anyone i know visiting Croatia. Was 15,000+ step day, but it was mostly flat or downhill. The drive from Split is intimidating, but I am so happy we did it.
Sanja was an amazing guide- she shared interesting information, was very friendly, gave us clear and good instructions, and kept a large, diverse group of us together for hours and miles and smiles.
We had great experience with the tour, especially, Sanja the tour guide - she's great and ver knowledgeable helping us learning a lot about the park and that enhanced our experience there.
The experience is great. Everything went smoothly.
Lovro was an excellent guide. He is very knowledgeable and very entertaining. He made the trip fun. The park itself is magnificent, as any review will tell you.
This tour was a full day adventure. We had over 15000 steps that was mostly in the shade. The tour guide Larry was friendly, helpful, “Hil-Larry-us” provided clear directions and instructions, and gave us ample heads up for both food and restroom opportunities. The views were breathtaking and pictures cannot do them justice. Note: there is no swimming on this tour and will require you to be very careful with your footing. I have done a couple of tours with this company out of Split and do recommend them especially if you are new to touring Croatia. Considering the logistics involved it is good value for the money.
Guided tour through waterfalls - saw a lot and the guide was very knowledgeable She made it easy to follow along the trail and you can go at your pace
Larry was a great guide! The park is beautiful and there is so much to see. Larry was patient with the group and made sure no one was left behind or lost.
Lovro was an excellent guide. The lakes and falls are a must see. I would highly recommend this tour.
