Thoughtful Family Experience

Traveling with family, including teenagers, can be challenging, but this tour worked well for all of us. The explanations were clear and accessible. Some parts were emotionally intense, but they sparked meaningful discussions afterward.

Respectful Approach to History

The guide handled sensitive historical topics with care and professionalism. Nothing felt exaggerated or overly dramatized. The focus remained on factual storytelling and real locations, which made it more impactful.

Amazing place-bad tour company.

We had an unexpected stop in Le Havre. Wanted to see D-Day sites. No bus tours available. Booked this private tour for $1632. A bus spot opened up for $700 but we kept private tour to get a guide to give us a more in depth historical view than a bus guide would give. That did not happen. We were promised a comfortable car with an expert English speaking guide. We had a basic car and were cramped in the back seat. The driver clearly did not know where he was going. The guide read history to us from his tablet. He was from a country that had no history with WWII or France. He has only lived in France a few years. He was nice enough but he had no passion or expertise. We went to the same 3 sites the bus tour goes. He gave us 40 minutes at the American cemetery. That would cut our tour short 2 hours of posted time. We insisted on staying longer and were still shorted an hour of paid tour time. Loved the D Day sites and the significance to so many men and countries. But very disappointed in tour company.

Operator response

We regret to hear about your disappointment. Let me address your concerns : 1. We’re not sure about your transport standards, but here in Europe, a Mercedes-Benz E-Class 2024 is considered a comfortable premium vehicle, not a basic one. 2. Guests usually sit in the back seat, unless, of course, they’d like to replace the guide or driver 😉. 3. All our drivers know Normandy like the back of their hand — yours was no exception 😊. 4. As for your guide, Pierre is a fully licensed professional, certified by the state to operate D-Day tours. He used his tablet to check crowd conditions at the sites — not for information! Pierre was born in Normandy, worked as a guide in Bruges, Belgium for 12 years, and returned home six years ago to continue guiding in Normandy. 5. Please note that the total tour duration includes the transfer time to and from Le Havre 6. You’re correct — this tour visits the same D-Day sites as the cruise ship tours, just because we do not have any other ones. If you prefer exploring with 60 fellow passengers on a bus, you’re always welcome to save a few $$ and enjoy that option . Safe travels !

A respectful place

This Normandy D-Day experience isn't your typical fun vacation, obviously. It's a serious and important journey into history and remembrance. But doing it with friends made it a truly meaningful and shared experience.

First time visit.

Visiting Normandy for the D-Day historical tour was an unforgettable experience. Walking along the beaches and visiting the memorials gave me a deep sense of the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought here. The atmosphere is both somber and inspiring, making it a must-visit for anyone interested in history. I’ve captured some of my favorite moments in pictures, which I’ll be sharing soon. These images are a small way to honor the past and share the beauty and significance of this historic place.

Normandy, only for ?

The Normandy countryside, with its picturesque villages and rolling hills, was breathtakingly beautiful. Walking on the beaches of Omahs and Utah, where Allied forcz landed on D-Day, was a humbling reminder of the sacrifice made during WWll, As a history lover I will recommend this tour because they have knowledgeable guides who can give you lots of value.

Awe inspiring tour to stand where those brave soldiers stood.

Wonderful tour. Recommend a private tour for max flexibility and speed if coming from cruise ship in LeHavre. Our guide Zoe was really knowledgeable about the detailed history. The cemetery is humbling and awe inspiring. So glad to see that it is so well maintained. Point de hauc was our favorite with the shell craters, bunkers and gun batteries. Understand they may be closing entry to the bunkers soon from fear of cliff erosion. Would take at least a couple of days to see everything like St Mary Eglise, Utah and the other beaches. But this was a great day tour that gets you the highlights.

Great

This was a bucket list trip for my brother Mart. Wanna was excellent. She was an amazing tour guide who not only was a wealth of information but made sure we reached every location with plenty of time to enjoy. I would strongly recommend her. On a busy holiday weekend we never could have done it without her!

Normandy and Omaha Beach

The Normandy cemetery was by far the most impressive. Also seeing Omaha Beach and the monuments there were memorable.
